I would NOT recommend Melissa O’Donnell for any wedding hair or makeup services. Melissa did not show up on the day of my wedding. There was absolutely no communication from her — no call, no text, nothing — until after I made a Facebook post in a local group expressing my disappointment. Only then did she reach out. Later, I found out she was at another wedding that same day and had double-booked herself. According to our schedule, Melissa was supposed to provide hair and/or makeup for four people. Because she did not show up, our entire timeline was thrown off. I missed my first look with my dad, and we were late for the photos with our photographer. The anxiety and frustration this caused on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life is something I can’t even fully put into words. To make matters worse, Melissa requires full payment — including tip — before the wedding day. I can only hope she fairly compensated the artists who ultimately stepped in. Thankfully, Cori Alexander (hair) and Tiziana (MUA) showed up and truly saved the day. Without them, I don’t know what we would have done. They handled an incredibly stressful situation with professionalism and grace. I also learned the week before my wedding that she had failed to show up for another bride as well. The other bride went viral on social media, sharing her story and disappointment with MD. Since then, I have seen that she changed her business name from “Melissa O’Donnell Beauty” to “Fate Beauty Bridal House,” reportedly due to the volume of negative reviews associated with her previous company name. Future brides deserve to be aware of that history when booking. The entire situation felt extremely unprofessional and, honestly, very shady. Brides deserve reliability, communication, and integrity — especially on their wedding day. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Melissa.

Melissa was communicative, organized, and so easy to work with when doing my hair and make up for multiple events for my wedding. She absolutely nailed both my hair and makeup every time, I felt confident, beautiful, and completely like myself. I’m so grateful for her talent and professionalism throughout the entire experience.

Melissa O'Donnell Beauty INC. was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding day! From the very beginning, Melissa and her team were attentive, responsive, and incredibly kind. They truly took the time to understand my vision and the needs of my entire wedding party. The quality of their work was incredible - their attention to detail ensured that we all looked and felt our absolute best. Melissa was phenomenal at helping me and my bridesmaids achieve the perfect look, and I have never felt more beautiful. I cannot recommend Melissa O'Donnell Beauty INC. enough - she is the kindest soul and did an outstanding job on all of our makeup. Hire Melissa and her team for your wedding, you won't regret it!

Melissa double-booked our wedding, which I only discovered after coming across a viral TikTok where another bride shared her story. She blew off that bride on her wedding day feigning illness, sending only two artists to replace the team of four she had promised. On my own wedding day (the same day), Melissa arrived at our getting-ready location sobbing and told us she was sick. We felt genuinely sorry for her and were obviously very understanding, telling her we would have some girls do their own hair/MU so she could go home. It turns out she was crying because, just before arriving at our location, the other wedding party had confronted her after realizing she had lied about being sick and was actually at another wedding. Since Melissa (the owner of the business that I specifically hired) left claiming illness, we were short one makeup artist, and several of my bridal party members never received the hair and makeup services we had paid for. After the wedding, I reached out requesting a refund for the services that were never provided, the prepaid 20% gratuity on those services, and the hair and makeup trial fee (since Melissa never actually did my wedding-day look). She falsely claimed that 10 out of 11 girls received both hair and makeup when, in reality, only 9 received hair and 7 received full makeup. She offered just 650 in return, saying she had already paid her team and would be “losing out.” We pre-paid 360 per girl so that amount didn’t even come close to covering the cost of the services not rendered. I messaged her repeatedly for nearly two weeks about a refund (the majority of those messages going unanswered) and eventually, she stopped replying altogether. I ultimately had to dispute the charges through my credit card company to receive reimbursement. I later learned she did the exact same thing to the other wedding party…claiming more services were completed than actually were and refusing to fully refund them for services not provided. At that point, it became clear that this wasn’t just confusion within her team but a pattern of deception and fraud. To see that she has ruined this special day for so many brides since 2023 tells me that this behavior is intentional and fraudulent. I hope she does not have the opportunity to ruin another bride’s wedding day.

Do not book— ruined my wedding day. TLDR- 90 minutes late, different hair and make up than we decided on during trial, & ghosted me. The morning of my wedding Melissa texted me she would be 30 minutes late to do my hair and make up as she took on an additional hair and make up job. She ended up being 90 minutes late, which messed up the entire schedule of the day (which was approved by her and sent out in advance). This was incredibly disappointing as I reserved her services for my wedding day 10 months in advance and paid in full before she accepted another job that same morning and didn’t tell me until my wedding day. Her lateness severely impacted the schedule for the day and I missed planned photos with friends, a “first look” with my husband, and photos with him in our home because of her tardiness. I also didn’t get the full time or attention I would have if she had not taken on another job after committing to mine. These were once-in-a-lifetime moments that I cannot get back. She did not bring the same makeup she used in the make up trial we did, so we had to use some of my own make up and a friend’s make up. Neither my mom’s hair nor makeup was done the way they were in her trial. My own hair, both front and back (hair parted to side not middle until I asked for the change, bun type very different from trial) and make up colors were noticeably different from trial. I cried when she showed me what I looked like because it was so different. She did make a few minor changes when I asked, but if she made any more I would have had to push back our wedding ceremony (this obviously wouldn’t have been the case if she wasn’t 90 minutes late). My hair and make up still looked good despite this as Melissa is a talented hair and make up artist, but they were not the looks we decided on in the trial and couldn’t have been given her lateness. The stress and sadness of the situation deeply impacted me — I couldn’t eat or drink and I ended up in the bathroom throwing up for over an hour from anxiety at my own wedding. That is how much this affected my experience of my wedding day. I reached out several times to see if we could reach a resolution (perhaps a discount) or to get some closure, but she never responded. I have never written a review like this, but I cannot let another bride go through what I did. It was heartbreaking.
