Sustainable and stunning were never mutually exclusive. That's the idea behind Ceres Botanical. Founded by June Mena in Richmond's Fan District, Ceres Botanical is a floral and home boutique built on fresh, seasonal, locally-grown blooms rather than flowers flown in from across the globe. June's design style leans wild and asymmetrical, favoring unexpected color pairings over the uniform look of mass-market. Many blooms come straight from her own cut flower farm just outside the city, offering clients fresher florals without sacrificing beauty or budget.

We source and grow many of our flowers locally; sustainable, seasonal blooms with wild, unexpected design that skips the mass-market look entirely. We love loose, textured compositions, bold color pairings, and a little imperfection by design, proving that eco-conscious and editorial-worthy can absolutely coexist. Think wild, garden-gathered shapes and unexpected color combinations that feel personal, not formulaic.

Organic, Modern Florals That Elevated Our Wedding
Ceres Botanical, led by June Mena, created the floral designs for my wedding, and I truly could not have asked for a more talented, intuitive, and collaborative designer. June crafted every floral element for both the ceremony and reception—bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets, boutonnieres, on‑site installations, table florals, wedding cake flowers, and overall staging. Her work feels organic yet modern, with a level of thoughtfulness and restraint that makes each arrangement feel intentional rather than overly coordinated. From the beginning, June helped me narrow down floral options that aligned with our theme, colors, and venues without making the design feel overly uniform or predictable. Her work strikes a balance between harmony and individuality, creating a connected whole that never feels contrived. We had two very different spaces: an outdoor ceremony with an organic, natural feel and a reception in a more industrial setting. June’s designs seamlessly married the two environments, bringing warmth and softness into the reception while elevating the ceremony space with modern touches. Her perspective is truly unique; she sees the full picture and understands how florals can shape the atmosphere of a space. As a bride, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of decisions, but June kept everything on track with calm guidance and clear direction. She made the process feel manageable and even enjoyable. Beyond the wedding, I’ve continued to work with June for individual arrangements for special occasions. She has created beautiful pieces for friends and has even delivered arrangements as a surprise. Her work always feels personal, artful, and deeply considered.
