Maui Violin

Don began playing violin at age five, while living in Karachi, Pakistan. His Rumanian father gave him his first lessons. Continuing his studies, Don attended music conservatories in Paris and Rome, culminating in 1975, when he began exploring music beyond the classical realm. Since then he has performed and recorded with numerous jazz, folk and rock musicians, and also classical. His credits include playing in orchestras for such luminaries as Ella Fitzgerald and Pavarotti. Presently making his home on Maui, Hawai`i, he divides his time between performing, teaching, recording & swimming in the warm ocean.

Don plays acoustic or electric, all styles and time periods. His repertoire ranges from pure classical to outrageous rock, and everything in between. He has the unique ability to sense the music needed for any given moment.
