Lindsay Straw: Singer & Acoustic Guitarist

Singer & Acoustic Guitarist

Mixing evocative Celtic songs with upbeat Americana folk and acoustic covers, Lindsay Straw delivers a soundtrack in a warm alto voice with intricate guitar and Irish bouzouki accompaniment. With over 250 weddings under her belt, she loves working with couples to provide the perfect folky playlist tailored to their tastes and needs. She provides her own sound gear and can accommodate new song requests. She's open to weddings all over New England.

Lindsay can provide a soothing all instrumental fingerstyle guitar set, mix in vocals, or switch to Irish bouzouki and go heavy on Celtic songs for folks who want to honor their Irish or Scottish heritage! While she often plays solo, she can also subcontract a friend or two on fiddle, pipes, concertina, mandolin, bass, etc. for an energetic ensemble performance. She Plays it All

Lindsay Straw was exactly what we needed for our wedding day. From our first conversation, she was responsive and easy to work with, taking time to understand what we wanted. She went above and beyond by learning new songs specifically for us, which meant so much. She included Irish songs for my husbands family, and learned two new songs for our ceremony (You’ve got a friend in me, Noah Kahan). Her acoustic guitar work was stunning and set the perfect tone for our ceremony. We'd recommend her without hesitation to any couple looking for a live musician.

She was easy to work with, reliable, and accommodating throughout the planning process. She made everything seamless, and her performance added so much warmth and elegance to our day. We couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone looking for live music that truly elevates a wedding or special event.

A special, personal touch for our big day

We hired Lindsay to play guitar during our wedding ceremony; we were floored by her skill and professionalism, as well as her custom arrangements of our processional and recessional music. We would eagerly recommend her to anyone who wants a special, personal touch for their big day, or anyone seeking a supremely talented Celtic style guitarist for any reason. Thank you, Lindsay!

    Book her now!

Lindsay was the best choice we made for our wedding! She sang for our ceremony, cocktail hour and even did our first dance. She went above and beyond to learn a new song for us and exceeded our expectations. She was super easy to work with and prompt with responses when we needed her! Her song list was extensive and set the perfect ambiance. We had so many comments from guests saying how talented she is! Also, her price is more than reasonable. We highly recommend Lindsay and look forward to seeing her shows in the Boston area!

Yes! Some I may include at no additional charge if it's in my wheelhouse, but some more challenging songs that require extra work to learn and arrange may incur a nominal fee.
I'm most commonly booked for ceremonies & cocktail hours, though I often play through dinner hours as well. Three hours max is a good amount - beyond that you'll want a DJ or playlist to mix up the vibe!
Anything that you could call "acoustic folk": indie, folk-pop, folk-rock, Celtic, Americana, bluegrass, folky covers of classic rock and pop songs, a little jazz, etc. I even play a few of the classical wedding standards.
Typically 1-2 hours depending on how much amplification we need to set up.
