We had SUCH an amazing experience at Tenaya Lodge! We planned a winter wedding for February and, being from SoCal, it was a bit of a destination wedding for ourselves and our guests. The day went SO seamlessly and the staff were honestly one of my favorite parts of it. Starting with the moment we checked in for the week, everyone from the front desk staff to the waiters at our rehearsal dinner and wedding were so professional, kind, and excited for us. They really added to the experience. The facilities themselves are gorgeous. We got married on the terrace, surrounded by the view of the mountains. My husband and I took a little hike through the grounds with our photographer, it was so fun! Our guests RAVED about the facilities and had so much fun - many of them coordinated family day trips into the park. Some of our classy guests who are used to high end travel were very happy with the service and quality of the resort, restaurant, and bar. Many of our guests were traveling with small children and they also found it a really positive wedding experience - they were able to stay at the wedding all night and the kids had a blast. Some families stayed in the cabins and enjoyed that experience as well. The local vendors are awesome. The only caution I would warn new brides of is to OVER communicate during the planning stage. The wedding brochure is slightly outdated and doesn’t always have complete information. For example, we got caught having to pay an extra 700 to upgrade our meal package to include a third entree after we found out we had more than the allowed number of vegetarians, even though the brochure states that guests on a vegetarian or special diet will be accommodated, and does not state that there is a limit to the number of vegetarian/special diets. I would also encourage brides to use a wedding planner. As a type A person, I thought I could plan the wedding myself. However, the venue hosts many events and the venue coordinator does not always have extra time to really help you plan your dream wedding the way a planner can. Especially if you don’t live locally, you will really benefit from a planner who has worked at the venue before. Overall, we and all of our guests were super happy with our experience at Tenaya and would like to thank all the hard working staff who made our dreams come true!!!

Venue considerations

  • No venue-provided food services
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • No on-site bridal suite
We had a beautiful, fairytale wedding at Lillaskog Lodge! The views were amazing, the location was private and close to Yosemite, and the price was very reasonable. The lodge fit the majority of our wedding party and their plus ones so we didn’t have to make separate accommodations, which we loved. We also utilized the shuttle bus service to take wedding guests to/from nearby lodging which was a huge plus! The owners are super friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. We really appreciated all of their help from the time we booked to the day of our wedding. We would definitely recommend this venue, but we do feel people should consider that with Lillaskog’s charm and perks also comes some minor downsides and quirkiness. The lodge was designed with it’s Swedish roots in mind with lots of bright colors and patterns which made finding places for our wedding photographer to take pictures inside a bit of a challenge, but we ultimately made it work and took most pictures outside anyway. It’s also definitely not a modern place - it has old and mismatched furniture and appliances, and there’s no central air conditioning (which was not a big deal for us but could be a problem in hotter months). Due to being in the mountains and in the wilderness, you will also undoubtedly encounter creatures, critters, cobwebs, etc. These things didn’t bother us too much but they might bother someone else so we thought they were worth mentioning. Overall we loved our stay, had the wedding of our dreams, and would highly recommend Lillaskog Lodge!

Meghan was awesome! The whole team at Convict Lake was honestly super awesome… I don’t even know where to begin. Everyone working the wedding was super nice and helpful- if you asked for anything they were on it. Meghan was great for helping me to get the schedule made and then coordinate it before and during with the other vendors. And the food! We had so many guests come and tell us how good food is. And the location is just totally awesome too. Our friends and family loved being able to stay in the cabins near each other. I honestly can’t recommend this venue enough.
