11/10 RECOMMEND. We had the absolute best experience we could have imagined for our August wedding at the Madison. From the very start, our interactions with Brad and Louise felt so special and different. They wanted to know us as people, shared in our excitement and we felt completely taken care of from day one. Brad and Louise were always responsive, open to new ideas and helped us to curate the absolute best experience we could have imagined for our day. I truly cannot recommend this venue/these people enough. As for the venue, the natural and historic beauty of the space speaks for itself. We loved all of the natural wood and the historic feel of the barn while also enjoying upgraded spaces including the Bride and Groom suites. These spaces were full of natural light for photos, all of the amenities we needed and were such a perfect way to start out our day. I will always have precious memories inside of that bridal suite with my favorite people surrounding me. We chose to get married on the back patio which is an absolutely incredible space that we fell in love with immediately. The flowers and greenery outdoors were blooming and made for absolutely stunning photos without us adding additional florals. Brad & Louise’s meticulous care of the property was apparent at every turn from landscaping to décor and more. Brad even built a sweetheart table for two made from historic wood that we were able to use as our head table. Who does that?! They do. Brad and Louise were both present on the day of the wedding and helped to us to make sure everything went smoothly. August in MN can get hot and our day was no exception but the barn stayed plenty cool and was comfortable for our guests to enjoy dancing all night. We didn’t make use of the second story for dinner but we did set up a photo booth and second bar upstairs which allowed guests to step away from the busy dance floor and take in precious moments from above. I could go on and on about the day and the space and just how happy we were with how it all came together. If you are considering this venue—book it. You'll be glad you did.

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
The Mendakota Country Club is a beautiful venue and we had the vision for how beautiful the course would be in the early fall for our wedding when we toured in the dead of winter!! Our photos throughout the day in multiple locations throughout the venue are stunning with beautiful greenery and waterfronts. MCC checked every box for what we looked for in a venue, including (but not limited to): the opportunity for an outdoor ceremony and flexibility in having both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the event including cocktail hour, onsite getting ready spaces, onsite catering with a variety of dinner options and a cohesive, one-level space (helpful and easy for family members with physical mobility issues) Adena was very responsive and by the end of our year and a half engagement, had responded to 200 emails, discussing details and answering questions for our big day! Jessica and Adena in partnership with our Day of Coordinator were able to manage many moving pieces and make our big day come together beautifully, and the waitstaff and barstaff were wonderful to work with. While we had a good experience overall with MCC, there were two day-of notes that did detract from our Big Day: We were told that the staff will “stop golfers” from teeing off at certain holes during the ceremony, however we had numerous golfers walk right behind our officiant during the ceremony and even one golfer approximately 15 feet from us saying our vows yelling to someone in the parking lot. While we understand it is a country club/golf course first and foremost, MCC charges couples a 1,200 onsite ceremony fee that should come with the expectations of no members on the first few holes of the course during the ceremony. During the reception, the temperature was not well maintained and by the time the dance floor was fully opened, all guests were profusely sweating. While there were industrial fans to help keep the room cool, it was not as effective as we would have liked, especially during an unseasonably warm day in mid-September.

Venue considerations

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue than Union Depot for our wedding. The venue manager was clear, communicative, and flexible throughout the planning process. She helped us with deadlines, floor plan adjustments, parking validations, access to getting-ready spaces, and being on-site the day of to support with our wedding coordinator. We also appreciated how affordable the venue and getting ready spaces cost for our budget. The venue itself was beautiful, and it was a relief to do a final walkthrough and drop off decorations the day before the event. The Waiting Room setup with digital signage, pipe and drape made it easy for guests to know where to go, and Union Depot offered stunning indoor and outdoor photo options, which was especially important given the unpredictability of the weather conditions. We can’t wait to visit Union Depot in the future to hop on the train/bus and reminisce on our wedding day there.

If there’s one thing you should know about South Asian weddings, it’s that they’re not small. We estimated a guest list of about 300-400 people, and with us being Muslim, an additional factor that really came into play was ensuring that our catering was able to be made Halal, which you can think of as meal preparation similar in rigidity to Kosher preparation, but according to Islamic guidelines. I made a call to Brackett’s Crossing, and was greeted by Elizabeth (Liz) Revak and Kendra Simonis. They had informed me that Brackett’s can accommodate 300-400 guests for an event and that they accommodate a Halal menu, provided that it is still through Brackett’s Menu and their kitchen. Historically places that I’ve toured that did that, and weddings I attended where South Asian food is not on the normal menu usually does not hit expectations. Kendra and Liz had told me that if I was available, that they had an open house in the winter and that their full menu would be on display, alongside some of their preferred vendors- and that attending would give us a fuller picture of what the food would look and taste like. My family and I went, and were WOW’ed by their presentation, hospitality, organization, and of course, how delicious their food was! Speaking to Liz and Kendra and having tried the menu and knowing that it could be made Halal, we were super intrigued but not yet settled on having them do our event. What followed was me barraging the two of them with phone calls and emails, and them meeting every one of my questions with thoughtful, kind, respectful answers that showed a serious dedication to their craft, and conveyed the passion with which they do their jobs- and frankly, go above and beyond. They started by giving me several pamphlets worth of information on anything I’d ever want to know about hosting an event there, and when I started asking about requests like modifying the space/event to accommodate our cultural and religious values they were so beyond helpful, insofar as knowing the direction of Islamic prayer relative to their venue, knowing key customs in Muslim and South Asian tradition, being able to turn over spaces in the building for prayer time, accommodating our diets, and even being able to accommodate in case we needed a horse! The space itself is lovely, the ballroom is incredibly grand and very well lit from their wall to wall windows, and the outdoor gardens and photo areas are phenomenal. As a bonus, the patio space outside was perfect for cocktail hour and for guests to hang out at night. The organization of the event went really smooth, as they work very closely with all of your vendors and have spreadsheets/meetings to help you (should you choose to utilize them) and will make sure to provide you the exact appropriate amount of organization you want so as to not over or underwhelm you. When it came time for the day of, Kendra and Liz went above and beyond, and were personally on site to oversee the success of the event. The staff, both in the kitchen and the servers tending to the guests were all pros, and kept the event running efficiently- turning over the photobooth, dessert tables and dinner and making sure that my wife and I were not bothered at the sweetheart table (and had a plate of food!) GO WITH BRACKETT'S. You won't regret it.

The Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington was an incredible venue for our wedding block. From the moment we booked, their communication was prompt, clear, and quick - they were so responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions. The quality of their work and overall value was amazing. The venue itself was beautifully clean and had such an aesthetic look and feel. They went above and beyond for our special day, even providing complimentary champagne at check-in for our guests and an amazing shuttle service. While it was an expensive venue, it took so much stress away on the wedding day and we would highly recommend them to any couple looking for an incredible location for hosting our wedding block and getting ready morning.

The 3Ten was an absolutely perfect venue for our wedding. The venue itself is beautiful and didn’t require a ton of additional decor on our part (which we loved). The exposed brick, the chandeliers, the bar, and marquee signs were a few of our favorite elements! It also was a really affordable option not too far from the cities. The real star of the show though was our Day of Coordinator, Tina. From our first open house she was with us every step of the way answering all of our questions, big or small. She was prompt, kind, flexible, and most of all CHILL. Wedding planning can be stressful and Tina always gave us a strong “we got this” energy in the best way. She helped bring our vision to life and we did not worry once on the day of since she was in charge! We’d highly recommend 3Ten and investing in a day of coordinator like Tina!

Hands down, the BEST place to host a wedding in Minneapolis! The staff was amazing and soooooo accommodating - quick to return calls and emails and to answer any/all questions related to my son's wedding. 10 stars!! We hosted the groom's dinner, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all in one space and it was the best wedding set-up ever! Guests are still raving about the food and ambience! We had an amazing room block rate. Michael worked with the bride on pricing food, open bar, late night buffet, Topgolf, etc... which made the entire process stress-free. The parking ramp is connected directly to hotel via skyway, which was a huge boon for guests when they arrived for the wedding. We were able to bring in our own furniture, accessories, cake and rentals. We were also able to set things up as we wished with the help of Michael and his amazing team of energetic, hardworking and overly kind staff!! We had the pleasure of enjoying the outdoor patio space, which was absolutely perfect for the cigar bar. I highly recommend the Graduate to all brides & grooms!!! My family is still raving about the wedding and it's been almost a month since the big event. THANK YOU GRADUATE TEAM FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR MY SON AND HIS NEW WIFE!!!

We had an Amazing Wedding 10/15/2022 at Windows on Minnesota! Started the day with a get ready room prepared by the hotel and added on breakfast for the wedding party on the 3rd floor which was so spacious and made PERFECT get ready photos! Groomsmen used a suite to get ready in and we loved having our own spaces to keep the morning calm and special for all of us. Our ceremony was off site, but used Stars for a cocktail space for our 206 guests which had perfect views and LOVE the passed mushroom arancini appetizer!! My only recommendation is adding an extra bar (3rd bar for us) so the lines are not long for your guests. Our reception was in Galaxy and the plated dinner options were truly amazing, we chose Beef short ribs, asiago chicken, pesto salmon (thank you Chef Evan and Chef Mike for customizing) and the mushroom risotto! I continue to hear from our guests that each dinner option and pear salad was so good! Special shout our to Angel in Engineering for helping us with a special request! The banquet staff Michael, Diane, Melissa, Grace, Ricarda, Randy, Mohamud and Milton were so kind and accommodating to our guests. We brought in Sammy's Sweet Cupcakes which avoided the 5 per person cake cutting fee and loved each flavor. Sydney, Sarah and Scott were awesome with all our details and set ups along with communicating and updates that occurred. My husband and I were very chill and very organized during the planning process as I know the Sales team juggle so many events at Windows. It was the best day ever and thank the events team for making so many details come to life and allowing us to be carefree and enjoy our day! -Nate and Kat P.s. Our Vendors were AMAZING too!! When we first toured Nicollet Island Pavillion we met Morgan. She was incredibly helpful starting from the initial planning stages, selecting a date, and arranging a special tasting to accommodate the bride's dairy and gluten allergies. Mintahoe was so on top of it that they even had multiple gluten and dairy free wedding cakes for the bride to taste. This was especially impressive to us because other gluten and dairy free bakeries wouldn't even accommodate cake tastings. (The cakes were all delicious. We went with chocolate raspberry/ lemon poppyseed with lemon curd and vanilla buttercream.) Morgan went above and beyond through every step of the planning process, and she and the Mintahoe staff thought of everything. At our final planning meeting we met Nikita. She had the venue set up and then we went through every step of the day according to the timeline. On the big day, Nikita coordinated with our DJ, Pastor, and Photographers and things could not have gone better! A few things that really stood out to us were: - After the ceremony, the venue had our favorite drinks and small appetizer plates ready for us in the back room. - The late night snacks (nacho bar and wings) were also allergen free. - They put up all of our signage and place cards (which saves a lot of stress). Overall, the day was so perfect because of Morgan, Nikita, and Mintahoe's professionalism and planning. As the bride and groom, we were able to enjoy every moment of our wedding day!
