Steps from the Mississippi River, Machine Shop hosts a variety of events in its open, flexible space. From intimate to large groups, Machine Shop has been carefully restored with the specific needs of a high-end private event space in mind, keeping the original 1916 architectural details intact, while introducing modern luxury in this industrial space for all types of events. Our venue is a versatile event space with dual levels that can accommodate a wide variety of events & guest counts. The first level is an open space with high ceilings, polished concrete floors, original light fixtures & a fully furnished lounge to make an industrial-luxe room the perfect for your main event. The upper level gives a wrap-around view of the splendor below. With original wood floors & windows all around; this airy level is ideal for cocktail receptions or ceremonies.

Machine Shop is THE SPOT!
We could shout it from the rooftops - Machine Shop was the perfect spot for our wedding! We had about 200 of our family and friends at the Machine shop in early April, for the wedding of our dreams. Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all on site. The venue looked beautiful and the sound system was AMAZING for the live band. We had done our research, toured about 10 different venues that fit our guest count and emailed with a few more. I am SO glad we landed on Machine Shop. We got so many compliments from guests say it is a beautiful, but not stuffy, wedding venue in a fun part of town with easy parking ramp/uber options and close enough to the airport for out-of-towners. The staff at Machine Shop is great - they are a well-oiled machine and really zero in on the wedding you and your partner want. Easy communication, willing to work with you to meet budget needs, and detailed-oriented, all while being chill. They communicate and work seamlessly with catering, lighting, photography, the day-wedding coordinator, and even made a few special meetings happen for our band to come check out the sound system. For planning purposes, they do require a "day of" wedding coordinator (worth every single penny IMO) and have a preferred caterer list. The catering options really range in pricing, so don't count out Machine Shop based on this. It's a nice spot to flex your your budget if need be. Machine Shop handles all the alcohol service. With a hosted bar, like MS, you pay for drinks consumed, not a preset amount of alcohol regardless of what gets drunk during the wedding day. Machine Shop is super flexible when it comes to bar service and it was a spot where we could play with our budget a bit. All in, we are thrilled to have been married at Machine Shop! TLDR: Don't sleep on the Machine Shop - it's a GREAT spot for a wedding!
The only venue we looked into for our wedding!
The Machine Shop was the only venue my wife and I looked at for our wedding. We have performed as string quartet musicians at a plethora of venues in the Twin Cities and beyond, and this was the first and only venue where as a vendor I looked at it and thought: "I could get married here." The biggest draws were: amazing indoor location, unique space, easy to find parking, close to home, and option for both ceremony and reception to be in the same space. Communication with the venue staff was quick, fast, and easy to understand our options. The select caterers and onsite only liquor selections were excellent and had a wide variety of tastes and options. We went with Brasa and 2 hosted signature cocktails during cocktail hour - the food and drink were such a hit and people could not stop saying how great Brasa was and the cocktails! We had so much fun on our wedding night and everything came together so well. We worked with Lauren from Machine Shop and she was amazing, we got to meet with her for a wine tasting with our families and she answered all of our many questions as well as helped us figure out our drink preferences. So many of our friends and family commented on how this was one of the most fun wedding venues they had been to and we couldn't agree more!
Wouldn't Change a thing
As a bride, I could not have been more happy with Machine Shop as a venue. Upon our initial tour with Sheridan, it was clear the Machine Shop team would be incredibly professional, accommodating, and organized throughout the entire planning process leading up to our event, as well as day of. Sheridan was so personable and a pleasure to work with. Having attended several weddings leading up to and after our day, I've gained a sense of appreciation for how important the staff is to the flow of the day. When I say there was not a single glitch in the day, I mean it. David could not have been more amazing ensuring from guest arrival to the final dance that the event stayed organized and on track. The venue itself could not be more stunning with the large windows and natural light. Our guests were so complementary of the venue and set up. I am so thankful and appreciative for the incredible team who made sure our day would be one we always remember.
Premier Luxury Dream Wedding at Machine Shop
Luxury, elevated, ease, professional, artistic, and dreamy are words that come to mind when you think of Machine Shop. Every wedding guest commented on the beauty of the space, the warmth it provides, and how truly magical it made our special wedding day. We may be a tiny bit bias but we can confidently state we have never experienced such an event space, before or post, our wedding quite like Machine Shop. From the building, to the entire Machine Shop staff, we have lifelong memories that we will hold to our hearts forever. THANK YOU Machine Shop staff / building for making our dreams come true!
