I've been DJ'ing for over 20-years and have many great memories from my past weddings that I've DJ'ed at Bowling Green. The setting for the Ceremony in both locations, the staff's consistent and quality work, the care they take to make sure the Bride and Groom enjoy their day, and the food make this location an amazing place. Check them out and take a tour if you are looking for a great location to have your Ceremony and Reception.

AMAZING! Just amazing job done by Colt and his team. I was panicking when I got to the venue because hair and makeup ran an hour over, he assured me we were fine and we’d have plenty of time. He kept us on schedule for the ceremony and reception and just was there every second. Once we got into the reception he brought my husband and I ice packs and put them in the back of our shirt/dress. He made sure we got food, drinks, etc. Colt is amazing. The venue is BEAUTIFUL! Everyone told me how amazing the venue was and the food was so good. The cake was absolutely amazing. The DJ was amazing! We had the best time. I can’t recommend Jordan Springs Estate enough. You won’t be disappointed.

Showalter’s Orchard

5.0

Timberville, VA
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $5,300

Over the years, we've enjoyed sharing our farm with our friends and family for their uniquely beautiful weddings. Seeing our extraordinary aerie from their perspective reminded us to take in how special it is, and it inspired us to redesign and renovate a former greenhouse. We’ve created a belvedere of sorts with walls of windows that make a feature of our wondrous view of the Shenandoah Valley.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Surrounded by beautiful vineyards
  • Rustic-chic setting

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • Does not have a dance floor
Showalter’s was one of two venues on our short list, and we’re very glad we decided to go with them. We wanted a mountain view during the ceremony and the terrace was absolutely perfect. The greenhouse is gorgeous and looks amazing both in person and in photographs and was the perfect backdrop. We served cider and apple cider donuts and our guests loved both. It felt so unique and special! Working with everyone at the venue was incredibly easy, and they were so kind and welcoming to us and felt like they really wanted to make sure our day went well. We booked all of the AirBnBs on the property and would definitely recommend doing so. The “bridal” suite off of the Greenhouse was great for staging and getting a moment away during the wedding, having the extra space for actually getting ready was a very good choice (especially with larger wedding parties and lots of people doing hair and makeup). We also stayed in one of the AirBnBs the night before and afterwards, and being on the property was incredibly convenient as hotels in Harrisonburg are a bit of a hike. The AirBnBs were cute and worked great for our purposes! We stayed in one of the AirBnBs through to the Monday after our Saturday wedding which was great and made it so that we didn’t have to rush getting everything out the morning after the wedding. I don’t think I can say enough amazing things about Bridget and the staff at Rivercrest Farm and Events. With my research and talking to other venues, Rivercrest provides a unique opportunity for couples for many reasons - multiple Airbnb’s onsite, ability to decorate the venue yourself, having the venue for 2.5 days, the open mindedness to creative ideas, and no one else has Bridget!! When my now husband and I drove up on the property, we loved how quiet and beautiful the area was. But it was Bridget who sold us on the venue. Bridget is one of the friendliest, supportive, and most enthusiastic person - the best combination of what you want for an event coordinator. We looked at another place before seeing Rivercrest and we heard a lot of “no’s”- “No we wouldn’t do this or couldn’t do this”. So when we met Bridget, it was a breath of fresh air. When we told her our ideas and vision, it was a lot of “YES!” or “we can figure it out”. If there was something she wasn’t sure we could do, she would reach out to the owners or provide other solutions. Some different ideas - Toby Keith tribute, a The Office theme wedding video, the groom/groomsmen coming into the ceremony to Motley Crue, and bridal party flip cup entrance. We decided Rivercrest was our venue before we even got back to our vehicle to leave. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, Bridget was very easy to reach and communicate with! Our 30 day walkthrough was easy and Bridget helped us see our vision come to life. Within the one month leading up to the wedding, Bridget would reach out to give updates and was flexible with any changes in our timeline. She was able to communicate to our vendors and be an advocate for us. Rivercrest has vendors on a recommended (not required list). We got our DJ (DJ Chuck) and caterer (Crossroads Catering and Cafe) off the list which were both fantastic!! Rivercrest has great connections! On wedding day, everything went smoothly!! Her staff helped with getting our older guests food and kept an eye on them throughout. Everything was set up how we visioned! Scott the owner was also helping out! Couldn’t be more thankful to the staff of Rivercrest for making our day so perfect!! All of our guests had only great things to say about the venue. No complaints all around. We also rented 2 of the Airbnb’s which are onsite. Both Airbnb’s were super cute and clean! The Airbnb’s were a great option to have all of our friends stay with us. Bonus with being dog friendly!! Rivercrest allowed us to have a wedding weekend and not just a 5 hour day to spend with our loved ones. We recommend Rivercrest for all couples no matter how far you live! They deserve all the praise and the travel. 100% worth it.
