Our experience having our wedding at Big Bear Mountain Resort was absolutely amazing!! From the planning to the venue to the staff to the food, everything was fabulous. Here is the breakdown of our experience: Planning Process: Working with Elizabeth, the BBMR coordinator, made planning so much easier. She was super responsive - always quick to reply to emails or texts - and really helped me think of details and questions I might have forgotten on my own. She kept everything organized and made sure nothing slipped through the cracks, which made the day feel completely stress-free. The Venue: The locations we used were beautiful and worked really well for our wedding. Ceremony (Top of Chair 2): Taking the chairlift up to the ceremony was a fun experience that our guests really enjoyed. The ceremony site has a gorgeous view of Big Bear Lake and is surrounded by trees. The wooden arch they built was a nice touch. For ADA guests who couldn’t take the chairlift, BBMR can drive them up, which was great. Cocktail Hour (Hog on the Rocks): The cocktail hour deck had amazing views of the San Jacinto mountains - it felt like we were on top of the world. Even though it’s up on the mountain, we had an open bar and a tasty charcuterie board for everyone to enjoy (I’m pretty sure you could choose to do hors d’oeuvres up there too, but we didn’t personally choose that). Reception (The Meadows): The reception area at the base of the mountain was cozy and inviting, with string lights, fresh mountain air, and a roaring fire. It was a great space for everyone to relax and have fun. The Staff: The staff were fantastic. Guests commented multiple times on how friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful they were, and how they really helped make the day run smoothly. The Food: The food was really good - definitely better than what you might expect at a mountain venue. We went with the Timber Ridge menu (salad, tri-tip, garlic-roasted chicken, vegetables, and thyme-roasted potatoes), and it was all delicious. They were also flexible with dietary restrictions, which was helpful for some of our guests. The Price: After looking at a bunch of other venues, I felt like BBMR was the best value for the quality of the venue. Preferred Vendors: BBMR’s preferred vendors list made choosing vendors easier. We used the photographer and bakery from the list, and both were excellent. Lee Stockwell captured beautiful photos, and the strawberry champagne cake from Sister My Sister Bakery was both delicious and a hit with our guests. The Extra Touches: BBMR went above and beyond with adding little details that made the day feel complete—directional signs, lanterns on the tables, themed cake-cutting utensils, and even gold sparkles in the signature cocktails. Those small touches really added to the overall experience. So basically, I would 100% recommend BBMR for your wedding!

We just had our wedding at The Homestead and couldn’t have been happier! It was the wedding day of our dreams. Paula: she was so on top of everything at the rehearsal and on the day of, my family and bridal party really appreciated her thoroughness. She also was so accommodating to any requests we wanted for our wedding day! She and her workers spent so much time setting up our seating chart in such a beautiful way I would have never thought of. We had so many additional things planned for our wedding but she and her team made it all happen and run smoothly too! She even decked out our cake with our personal decorations using her creative judgement and it looked so cute. Email correspondences took some time to get replies, but texts and phone calls were promptly answered! DJ Milo: was a great MC and DJ. I was a little worried he wouldn’t play the songs we requested, as friends had that issue with different djs at their weddings, but every song was one we had asked for! Which really helped create the vibe we were looking for on our wedding day. He also flawlessly looped songs when some activities ran a bit too long. Haverland catering: the food was delicious and the portions were HUGE! I didn’t hear any complaints about being hungry. Desserts: pie and cake were both included in the package! And we had so much left over which was great because I wasn’t really able to eat much on the actual wedding day. They also let us bring macarons for an extra dessert table, and set it all up for us! Photobooth and late night treat: the guests always had something to do! Even if they weren’t interested in the dance floor. There was also areas to sit and talk peacefully away from the music. Bride whisperer: I even forgot about this until the day of the wedding! But I had an attendant with me the whole time to hold onto my bouquet when needed, get me water or drinks or food, and help me with my 3 costume changes. Dora: was so helpful in the girls cottage in the morning! Checking up on us every 15 minutes. And when the flower girl petals did not match the color scheme of the event, she and Paula went to get different petals. They really cared about all the little details! Florals: the flowers and table settings were beautiful, although not exactly what I was expecting. We had discussed moss for the tables but did not end up having it on the day of. Not a big deal, and the guests all thought the florals were beautiful. Bar Tender: was amazing! This venue is so good because it is BYOB. We were able to have 3 signature cocktails and she helped me to create the recipes and buy the proper amounts of ingredients. I was texting her back and forth making changes and tweaking the recipes until it was just right! She was always very responsive. The guests loved the drinks! The venue: speaks for itself, it is so beautiful! Our guests did not understand why we were getting married in Oak Glen, but once they were there they all understood. Also, when we booked the venue I was not thinking of this but it is ADA accessible. I ended up getting injured and needing knee surgery before the wedding so having an accessible venue was a great plus!

With 350 acres of untouched Mojave Desert, the estate offers soon-to-be-weds a chance to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Any couple’s romantic event will be surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and romantic sunsets during the evening, providing a stunning, photo-ready backdrop.

  • Has a glamorous vibe
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Lush gardens

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • No free parking
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
The Morada was exactly what we were looking for in a venue. As soon as we pulled up we knew it was the right place. The accommodations were sparkling clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The kitchen in the main house is thoughtfully and thoroughly stocked, which made our stay even more homey. It's not cold and thoughtless like a lot of AirBnb's these days— it feels like someone's treasured home that's so well cared for and cozy. There was a lack of closet space which made it a little tricky given we had a lot of formal wear to hang, but we made it work. The casita is also well-equipped and thoughtfully designed. The owners allowed us to customize the space a bit to our liking, and the extra house allowed us some much-needed privacy during our wedding weekend. The outdoors are breathtaking and the big, open sky is stunning. The sunsets and stars are like no other— it feels like you have the desert to yourself. We enjoyed short hikes on the property, and there is plenty of outdoor seating to rest and relax in the shade. The bonfires at night were a great addition when it got a bit chilly and for some added romantic atmosphere. Our guests raved about how beautiful everything was— and while perfection wasn't our goal, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect celebration of our love. I'd be remiss to not mention Pablo and Devon specifically, who were incredibly helpful throughout the process, but especially in the weeks and days leading up to the event. Devon helped us navigate any logistical questions or challenges, including everything from a significant amount of package deliveries to requests for extra clothes hangers. We encountered an unprecedented rainstorm the day after our event, and Pablo helped us move our rentals under the porch to avoid any damage fees. Every time we looked up from our to-do list, Pablo and Devon were busy getting the grounds ready for us while simultaneously somehow staying out of the way of the main action. They were like our fairy godparents. I cannot thank them enough for their labor which contributed greatly to everything running smoothly. I highly recommend using a day-of planner or coordinator to help navigate the vendors— our amazing planner, Yu and Us, stepped in to do this and it helped us focus on other details while the groundwork of the party was laid out. We mostly used vendors recommended by the venue as it is a unique location that requires some extra logistics. We held 3 events— a welcome dinner & Paebaek (Korean tea ceremony), the wedding, and a brunch— all outside, and all special in their own ways. We also stayed an extra night, Wednesday through Monday, which I can't recommend enough so you can soak in the beauty of the space and the desert as long as possible. As a lesbian interracial couple, we never received even the slightest hint of judgement or negativity from anyone we interacted with. We're grateful to have experienced a space that felt safe for queer people, both for ourselves and our guests. There wasn't a moment where we didn't feel welcome and celebrated. Thank you to the Morada team for an unforgettable week!

We worked with Knife House in 2023 2024 for an annual event for one of our agency's clients where we were tasked with curating a hospitality house space & hosting VIP dinners within the space. We received SOO many compliments on the space itself and it was such a hit! The Knife House team is great to work with as (especially in our 2nd year working with them) they totally understand the needs/complications of event hosting and the various tasks needed. They were up extremely communicative collaborative throughout our time planning the event and instrumental in it's success. When/if there was an issue with the venue prior to the event, they did all they could to rectify the situation on our behalf, including getting the cement power-washed so it would look it's best reinstalling lights that were not intended to be removed. Both of these elements were handled swiftly and professionally, and without question. Kim was a pleasure to work with and really collaborated with us, answering all of our questions and being available throughout the full planning event timeline to support however she could. This is a beautiful venue and would definitely recommend it for any upscale, modern setting you'll be looking for in the Palm Springs area!

From the moment we booked our wedding at The Orchard by Wedgewood Weddings, the staff was prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. All the coordinators were helpful and worked seemlessly as a team. The venue itself is simply gorgeous, with a romantic and quaint atmosphere that made our special day feel truly magical. All of our guests loved the space. The team ensured that everything ran smoothly, going above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were well taken care of. I don’t even know where to begin. When I first took a tour of Belle Vista. I already knew that this is exactly the venue I want. The scenery, the architecture, the ambiance. It was absolutely surreal. However, you can always rent any venue. But one thing that differentiates belle vista from any other venue is the owner Rima. If you are thinking of renting this venue for your special day, I can tell you right now you will not just be renting a venue. You will be booking a place that is beyond just that. Rima is absolutely incredible in every aspect. I have never felt so much trust and love from a coordinator/venue before my day. Rima will absolutely take care of you and she will prioritize every single desire you have. As a bride, the stress becomes overwhelming. However with Rima by my side I felt confident, at ease, and taken care of. To me that is what I look for when I choose a place to host the most important day of my life. If you are reading this and debating whether you should book Belle Vista Gardens for your special day. I urge you to book immediately because you will not just be hosting a beautiful venue, but you will feel like a guest at your own event. That is something you could not say about any venue, but you can at Belle Vista. Thank you so much Rima for allowing my husband and I to have the most special day of our lives, and now we can go forward looking back at a memory that was not only beautiful, but memorable because of our amazing host, Rima.

We had our wedding at Carter Lane Estates, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful! We had our ceremony on the lawn, tucked away and surrounded by gorgeous landscaping of rock work and olive trees. We had our reception in the barn, and everything was exactly as we hoped. Jennifer was so kind, communicative, and very easy to work with! Since she knows the layout of her property so well, she knew what decor would look good, and where to place furniture and vendors. Jennifer assisted with the supervision of our chair and arbor deliveries, and was the point person for the rest of the vendors, so the bride and groom could relax. She made the whole event seamless! Highly recommend this place!
