Lilac Hill is a family owned 80 acre property in Louisville, NE, about 25 minutes from Omaha and 45 minutes from Lincoln. The original founders of Lilac Hill, Don and Bev Maxon, bought this old run down property in the 80's and set out to create their own arboretum. There are dozens of old growth trees, hundreds of blue spruce, and thousands of flowering shrubs and plants, which provide beautiful color and depth everywhere you go. The space combines elements of BoHo, Rustic, Elegant, and Industrial in a romantic natural landscape. So many of our guests comment that they don't feel like they're in Nebraska anymore! The property is enclosed by trees, providing a feeling of seclusion and exclusivity where your guests can hang out under our 100' tall cottonwood trees and smell the lilac scented breezes. We built Iris Aisle ourselves, around the idea of creating a sanctuary where nature lovers could come to feel at home and be surrounded by medicinal plants and herbs and all of nature’s wonder, inside and out. Simplicity is our goal here, so we only host events of 75 or fewer people. We knew we wanted this place to be geared toward smaller weddings, because there is no other place in Iowa that does. So many venues want to go big or go home, but that’s not us. Instead, we want to shift the mindset of what this day is truly about, how true connection with those you love the most is deeply important.

The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees. Debbie’s Celebration Barn is one of the most extraordinary and romantic settings for a Midwest wedding or special event. The event space in the barn is spacious with many options for originality to fit your occasion. Both east and west ends of The Barn feature large double French doors which add to the charm as well as aid in cross ventilation on warmer summer evenings.
