I first entered the floral design world as an intern in 2016 and noticed a lack of originality in designs and a need for more connection between the florist and the couple. When I started WFD in 2019, I decided to prioritize both artistic designs and building long-term relationships with each couple. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

“From the moment I said yes, I knew florals would be the highlight of decor for our wedding day. Flowers hold such sentimental value for me because I’d spend my springs planting hundreds of annuals with my baba: zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, marigolds, begonias, etc. Going to my grandparents house was like going to a magical flower garden, and I wanted to recreate that feeling for our guests. After seeing Misha’s previous floral designs, I knew she would be able to bring what I had in mind to life; she did that and then some. The florals she lined my aisle with were exactly what I pictured: lush, whimsical, fun and filled with purples, oranges and greens. Those florals were then repurposed as centerpieces in the main reception tent and somehow became even more mystical underneath that lighting. On our way to the tent, we were amazed at the flowers on the seating chart wall. Dahlias and snapdragons, two of my absolute favorites… in colors that left me feeling the moody, romantic vibe I wanted and had described in design meetings with Misha leading up to the day. The flowers that adorned the tent’s entrance and up the poles created the most magical atmosphere. Sitting at our sweetheart table, we were surrounded by more florals that were repurposed from the ceremony; this time I believe from the gazebo, one of the most sentimental pieces of the day. Our reception tent really felt like a magical flower garden filled with our favorite people; exactly what we wanted for our wedding day.”

“Finding the right florist for me was the hardest part of wedding planning. I had meetings and quotes from at least 5 other florists before finding Shonta. I felt that these other florist were either price gauging me or not willing to work with this vision I had in mind so I began losing hope I’d find a florist in my price range that also was willing to work with my vision. Shonta from the very beginning blew me away. She showed me multiple examples and florals she had done in the past and immediately matched my vision with staying under my budget. Through out the entire planning she was very responsive and answered all my questions. When I walked into my venue the morning of my wedding I was blown away by her work. It was everything I imagined and more. You can tell she puts her heart into her work. She is also the sweetest person and showed me around the venue to make sure I loved everything. I could not recommend her enough!”
