Indigo West
Rating: 5.0 (10 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,900
  • Serves Santa Monica, CA

I took up photography at the ripe age of 11 with a Polaroid I borrowed from an aunt. It quickly became my sketchbook as I worked to capture stills of the world and people around me. Those images have continued to pay emotional dividends throughout my life, helping me better understand what I have now come to see through a new scope. They are grounding, melancholic, funny and beautiful. Some of my most cherished possessions.

If you are looking for a photographer in San Diego, look no further than Daniel. We first worked with him for our engagement photos and knew immediately we had to book him for our wedding. Daniel is incredibly friendly and professional, but what we loved most was his eye for candid moments. He captured the true essence of our day and all the little things that made it special. We are completely in love with our photos! One of the highlights was his film photography option—the care package he sent with the negatives, prints, and a handwritten card was such a beautiful, personal touch. It’s clear he truly cares about his clients. Working with him was an amazing experience from start to finish, and being able to book our videographer through him made the entire process seamless. If you are in the Southern California area, you will not be disappointed! Thank you so much, Daniel, for giving us memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

Bedrosian Photo
Rating: 5.0 (37 reviews)
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $1,500
  • Serves Santa Monica, CA

I’m Peter, the guy behind Bedrosian Photo. I photograph weddings, people, parties, emotion, chaos, and all the weird little moments in between. I care way more about honesty than perfection — the nervous energy before a ceremony, your drunk uncle on the dance floor, your grandma crying quietly in the corner, or the split-second look your partner gives you when they think nobody’s watching. Those moments matter more than anything staged ever could.

Awarded Best of Zola
Peter and his team were absolutely incredible to work with! From the very beginning, everything flowed so smoothly. He kept the timeline on track, made sure we weren't late to a single part of the day, and handled everything with confidence and professionalism. Peter was the perfect balance of being directive when needed while also giving us the space to truly enjoy our wedding day without feeling like we were constantly being pulled away. He made the entire experience feel effortless. When we received our gallery, we were completely blown away. The quality of the images and Peter's editing style exceeded all of our expectations. Every special moment was captured so beautifully, and looking through the gallery truly felt like we were reliving our wedding day all over again. Thank you so much, Peter, and your incredible team, for giving us memories that we'll cherish forever!

Zara was great from the very first day I reached out to the time I received my pictures. The quality of her work was amazing, even better than expected. Zara was not only a photographer, she was also asking if I needed any additional help. She was also keeping in touch up to the night before our special day to make sure everything was ready to go! Overall, I had an outstanding experience with her. Thank you so much for being part of our special day, Zara!

Gabbie Burseth Photo
Rating: 5.0 (14 reviews)
Santa Monica, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $7,200

Gabbie Burseth grew up documenting everything and saving mementos in empty Christmas boxes. After studying at the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia, she discovered an affinity for weddings and their accompanying treasures. Her philosophy as a wedding photographer is to observe with as little interference as possible — no faking it, no do-overs, no “for the camera”. Her biggest desire is for couples to be present at their wedding, not stuck in a photoshoot. Her work is punctuated by rich and vibrant color, the timeless quality of analog film, and a sense of humor found in fleeting moments.

Awarded Best of Zola
The professionalism, raw talent, and sweet demeanor are only a few of the exquisite gifts Gabbie offers. If you are looking for a photographer who is the complete package, look no further. When selecting wedding vendors, every blog post will tell you that choosing your photographer is one of the most important (if not the most important). However, little information is provided after that tidbit, which can be daunting for an excited (albeit overwhelmed) bride who wants every detail of their wedding to be perfect. Sean, my now husband, and I had selected our venue, The 1909 in Topanga Canyon, CA., and our coordinator, Allison, with West Events LA, provided us with a list of her preferred vendors -- insert us coming across Gabbie. I remember going to her website, scrolling through her work, and being enamored with how each photo captured a different emotion and feeling. We both immediately knew that from looking at her work alone, we wanted our photos to look and feel the same. After sending an inquiry and coordinating a call, Gabbie & I spoke on the phone for close to an hour about what we had in mind for our wedding, and I remember it all clicking when Gabbie described her work as "documentary" style. Sean and I knew we didn't want a videographer for our wedding, so Gabbie's techniques and overall vision aligned perfectly with what Sean and I wanted. We also opted to do a round of engagement photos with Gabbie 5 months before our wedding, where she came into our home to take photos of us in our most comfortable and natural state (chasing our dogs around the yard) and then for a shoot at a local winery that we love to go to. Not only did we have such a fun and great experience, but we also felt so comfortable and relaxed with Gabbie. We almost forgot we were there to have our photos taken! We received the gallery back shortly after and were so thrilled. Fast-forward to our wedding, we had hired Gabbie a second shooter for 8 hours. They met us at the venue for the final getting-ready details around 1 pm and stayed through to a good portion of the dance floor, around 9 pm. They arrived promptly and were even extra helpful with Sean when getting his suit on! While those details may seem minor to some, it was that unique care and attention from both Gabbie and her second shooter that made Sean & I, and all of our guests, feel so beautiful and confident to be themselves. When Sean and I got our gallery back, we spent a solid three hours scrolling through every captured moment, laughing, crying, and squealing with excitement. I am not exaggerating when I say that seeing the captured images and how Gabbie so beautifully arranged them in the album was purely magic. Any time we go through the album, we genuinely feel transported back to that day, and there is no doubt in my mind it is because of Gabbie's pure mastery of her craft. As part of her thorough questionnaire, one of the questions was what percentage of digital-to-film prints we would like, and for ours, we chose 50:50. I'm so glad we opted for film, and I almost wish we had had more because these photos are indeed what dreams are made of. The icing on the cake, Gabbie also wrote us an adorable card after the wedding, which included 3 of the film prints. Sean & I will forever be grateful to Gabbie for her work and friendship. We love you!!

Tache Weddings
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Santa Monica, CA

I film weddings because I’m obsessed with memory. Not the posed stuff — the in-between moments. The way your partner looks at you when no one’s watching. Your grandma dancing. The second before you walk down the aisle. At Tache Weddings, we capture photo, video, and Super 8 with a documentary, fashion-forward style. I care more about how your day felt than how it looked on Pinterest. If you’re looking for someone who hypes you up, holds space, and gives you a film that feels like a love letter — I got you.

Tony is truly in a league of his own. From our first call, we knew he just got it. He brought this calm, creative energy that instantly made us feel safe — and then somehow turned our entire wedding day into the most beautiful, emotional film and photo gallery we’ve ever seen. He captured things we didn’t even notice happening — the way my dad teared up during dinner, how my partner squeezed my hand during the vows. And don’t even get us started on the video… we cried and laughed. It's us, but elevated. He was everywhere but never in the way. Professional but still out there dancing with us by the end of the night. Book him. Seriously. Just do it.

Betsy Newman Photography
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Santa Monica, CA
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $9,500

Betsy is a lifestyle, wedding, and music photographer based in Los Angeles. She discovered photography as a creative outlet while studying theater at USC. Shortly after graduation, Betsy was hired as the tour photographer for Maroon 5 and documented 34 concerts across the country. Since then, Betsy has been on the road with One Direction, One Republic, Charlie Puth, and most recently Trevor Noah. Betsy's eye for candid moments and storytelling has led to photographing weddings around the world. She lives for documenting life and love through the lens. Betsy looks forward to hearing from you and bringing your vision to life!

I am writing this review wayyyy too late (over 2 years after my engagement photos were taken) and it has been eating me away inside because I need to give Betsy all the love and praise she deserves. Betsy photographed our engagement photos and would have done our wedding as well if she wasn’t already booked. As a wedding planner myself, I had worked with Betsy previously and she was always so fun, easy to work with and matched my energy on every level! She gets so excited when she knows she is ‘getting the shot’ that you can’t help but get excited too. I had a very specific vision for our engagement photos and she was 100% on board to make it happen. I love the photos so much and will treasure them forever as they document a very exciting time in our lives. I absolutely love working with Betsy and will definitely be booking her again in the future!

Izida Lukmanova Photography
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Santa Monica, CA
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $3,000

Welcome. I love being a wedding photographer! I like to capture the true emotions and personality of my couples. Nothing can beat the magic of looking at the wedding photos 5, 10, 15+ years after your wedding day and still experience all the feelings. This is my goal with every wedding I photograph.

Izida was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From our very first interaction doing engagement photos to the wedding day, Izida's communication was clear, concise and friendly, putting us at ease throughout the entire planning process. On the day of our wedding, Izida and her team were incredibly organized and experienced, helping us work through a (very) large family to ensure we got all the shots we needed. The preview photos she provided just days after the wedding were absolutely stunning - Izida has a true talent for capturing beautiful, natural moments. We were blown away by the quality and value of Izida's work, and are so grateful to have such amazing photos to remember our special day. We highly recommend Izida Lukmanova Photography to any couple looking for an exceptional wedding photography experience.

Danielle Rouillard Photography
Santa Monica, CA
  • Starts at $4,000

The best way that I can describe myself is that I am a "dog person" when I'm out and a "cat person" behind the scenes. As a digital and film photographer, I'm very interested in unique and varied light scenarios that incorporate unique backdrops and angles. I have been working as a professional photographer for over 5 years and there is not a day where I don't find myself learning something new about it, and that to me is part of the joy. I strive for imagery that makes your eyes linger, incorporating equal parts creative beauty and technical skill. My images have been featured by GQ Magazine, David's Bridal, AirBNB, Chubbies, and more.

Randall de Leon Photography
Rating: 5.0 (51 reviews)
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $2,000
  • Serves Santa Monica, CA

Photography has always been a lifelong passion of mine, I picked up my first camera as a gift from my dad when I was 14 years old. Never in a million years would I have thought that my lifelong hobby could eventually become my career. I focused on my future, working my way through college and grad school to achieve my license to practice, but a part of me realized that I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to go on adventures and meet a lot of new people. So in 2019, I took that risk, changed my hours from full time to part time and put more focus on my photography. I booked my first gig later that year and have never looked back.

Awarded Best of Zola
Randall did an absolutely amazing job as our wedding photographer! The quality of his photos truly exceeded our expectations—every shot was beautifully captured and full of emotion. He was incredibly helpful with posing, which made a huge difference and helped us feel confident in front of the camera. What really stood out was how comfortable he made us feel throughout the entire day. He was polite, professional, and brought such a fun, positive energy that made the experience even more enjoyable. We also appreciated how flexible and efficient he was. Whenever I wanted to step away from photos to say hi to our guests, he worked quickly and seamlessly to keep everything on track without making us feel rushed. We’re so grateful for his work and would highly recommend Randall to anyone looking for a talented and easygoing photographer!

Tom did a beautiful job of capturing our wedding day. We had the pleasure of booking Tom early on, and got a great deal that included engagement photos! If I’m being totally honest… the price felt too good to be true! Most wedding photography is wildly expensive… but we were so happy to find Tom who provided a reasonable quote ! We were nervous that the quality might not be the best, after all, he’s on the cheaper end of the spectrum. But man….. what a total score for us. We got HIGH QUALITY service that would normally cost us thousands and thousands of dollars. My fiance and I were so impressed with the engagement photos, we could not wait to see what beautiful magic he would come up with on our wedding day. He did not disappoint… Tom delivered such beautifully captured moments that I still look at on the daily. His work speaks for itself. My husband and I feel like Tom was almost more helpful than our coordinator! He directed everyone when it came to photos, which is exactly what I needed ! I was able to relax the entire time because Tom took it upon himself to be in charge… cannot emphasize what that did for us. We just got to enjoy the moment. If you want to perfectly capture that one special day AND get an additional coordinator in the process, pick Tom. And quite frankly, it was a steal. Tom should be charging much much more. Get this… our photos were ready TWO DAYS LATER. No extra cost. The videographer, Christian, he brought on was also so very talented. When I watched the video back… I was in tears. Absolute cinema. Christian and Tom were so fun and kind, I really wanted them to stay longer, OFF the clock just as as our guests! Don’t think it over… I promise you will not regret hiring these two. Book them before they become unavailable!

Lulan Studio

Lulan’s creativity has led to his path beyond most conventional definitions. He has won 25+ wedding photography awards, named the Best Wedding Photographer in Los Angeles; while acquired advance degree in immunology and medicine from UCLA.

Awarded Best of Zola
We found Lulan Studios about nine months before our wedding day. We were immediately drawn in by their professionalism and their reputation. Lulan is an inclusive photographer who was very receptive to our wedding vision. He and his team were incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful all throughout the process. We elected to go with Lulan Wang himself for our photographer who worked with an associate. After our initial consultation we were turned over to Shannon who was our go to contact for day to day clarifications and vendor contact until Lulan took over just before the wedding. Shannon was immensely resourceful and responsive. She communicated with our coordinator very efficiently and was always on top of our booking. We are very grateful to her as well for making the process so easy and for continuing that communication after the fact. On the day, Lulan and his associate were spectacular. It was clear his associate had more than enough talent for the job just like Lulan, but they divided and concurred by using two different types of cameras for different types of shots. We regret not doing an engagement session with them, but we will likely return for an Anniversary session in the future. We didn’t even need one though, because he is skilled enough that he understood us as a couple immediately. They made us feel comfortable and confident. They hyped us up and moved through the shot list masterfully. Nothing was missed and we captured far more than we expected. Please look through our attached photos as they speak for themselves. One of the most exciting moments was when Lulan handed us a little blue book filled with about fifteen physically printed preview photos DURING THE RECEPTION. A lovely surprise that absolutely shocked me. Turnover was 4-6 weeks and we got ours just before the six week mark right on schedule. We were floored. They are jaw-dropping. We ultimately got 950 photos permanently digitally available for high resolution download and access to a shop with impressive options for prints and albums of a wide array of types and sizes. I’m thrilled to show them to you here and implore you to consider booking Lulan Studios. We trusted in their ability from the beginning and we were not disappointed. They are among if not the absolute best in the business.

I’m Adam—a Boston native who’s now roaming around California photographing everything I see. When I’m not behind the camera you can usually find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, sipping a dirty martini with friends, jamming to Taylor Swift in the car, or taking my rescue pup Ollie to the park or on long neighborhood walks. I got my first film camera when I was 8, and it was love at first sight. Capturing your story is more than just a job for me. From destination elopements to parties of the century, I've seen it all and love every minute of a wedding day.

I’m Mysi (pronounced, boringly, “Missy”)! I’ve been at this thing for 12 years and I keep falling more and more in love with it all. Give me intimate micro-weddings, quirky dive bar weddings, raucous South Asian weddings... my team and I absolutely thrive in chaos and emotion. My specialty is catching the moments and those tiny moments in between. ✨✨✨

Awarded Best of Zola
We were nervous when it came to hiring a photographer, because after the whirlwind of the day, photos are one of the only things you get to keep once the day is over that help you relive the moments. We had heard so many horror stories and knew it was one of the most important decisions we were going to make. But thankfully, hiring Mysi was truly one of the BEST DECISIONS we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, she was intentional, thoughtful, and so easy to work with. She made it a priority to meet with us in person—not just to talk logistics, but to get a feel for how we interact with each other. She wanted to understand our dynamic so she could best capture authentic, candid moments on the day. That personal touch meant a lot to us. She even took the time to drive up to our venue (a private residence) in advance to scout out the space. Watching her creativity come to life as she walked through the house and surrounding areas was such a fun and reassuring moment—we knew we were in great hands. We didn’t want just traditional posed photos; we wanted a mix of candid, artistic, and emotionally rich shots that told the full story of the day. She completely delivered. The final gallery was more beautiful than we could’ve imagined—natural, warm, and full of moments we didn’t even realize she had caught. We showed a few of the preview photos to people who didn't attend the wedding, and they all had nothing but compliments for how stunning the photos were. It's only been a few months, but we can't stop looking at the photos. They bring us back to the exact moment in time they were taken and we are able to relive the memories. Literally the only negative is that we can't figure out what our favorites are because they are all that great! We’re beyond grateful and couldn’t recommend Mysi more highly. If you want a photographer who truly sees you and puts her heart into every frame, she’s the one.

His passion for the art was so infectious, especially since it was our first time doing professional photos. It took us some time to warm up to the camera, but once we did, well, the pictures really speak for themselves. Murtaza especially has an incredible eye for creative photo ideas, and he and the team made it so much fun even though we were stressed out with all the wedding drama. They scoped out noteworthy outdoor locations that made amazing backdrops, helped corral family members together for group photos, and just generally went above & beyond to make sure we had coverage of all the important moments - all the big things and the small details too. The photos we ended up with were beyond what I imagined, I'm thrilled with how they turned out. Now, I just need someone to help put the wedding album together.... :)

Hey it’s Marijo (pronounced mary•joe), your film-loving, forever traveling photographer! Capturing your day, the way it felt, in both digital and film formats. My style is bright, vibrant, nostalgic with a mix of candids and cinematic images. I love getting to know my couples before their big day! It helps me create more personal work that reflects your love. I hope you know that your love is special, and that I can see that it is. That’s always how I’ll tell your story.

Marijo captured our special day perfectly. She had a perfect outdoor location nearby our ceremony location to take photos prior to the ceremony. She utilized the natural beauty of the outdoors and placed us perfectly to capture the most stunning photos we've ever had taken of us before. Marijo was professional and down to earth; a dream to work with on a very stressful and exciting day. We highly recommend A+M Badillo Images services.
