Built in 1921, the Martindale Schoolhouse is an official Texas Historical Landmark. The feeling of being inside a 100 year-old school building will transport you back in time to experience what a rural school was like over a century ago. The Martindale Schoolhouse is centrally located between Austin and San Antonio and is perfect for weddings, special events, weekend getaways, and outdoor excursions. First, there’s the expansive five-room villa that was once the original school. Carefully curated with art from around the world, the schoolhouse sleeps 14 and has been fully modernized with a large kitchen, multiple seating areas, a great lawn and a covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace. Next, there's the Martindale Social Hall. Perfect for wedding receptions, dances, corporate outings, you name it... all hosted under the sky and stars within the walls of the original school gymnasium. To top it off, the crystal clear San Marcos River is a short walk away .

There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful our wedding weekend was at Martindale. Craig and Wendi were incredible hosts and such a great people to work with. It was everything we hope it would be and more. The venue did all the heavy lifting with chairs and tables to accommodate our guests and they worked really well with our coordinator and other vendors on the day of. It was an absolute blast. Not the mention the property is gorgeous and so well-maintained!
