In 1929, Jean-Pierre Auguste Dalmas, a Waldensian immigrant from Villar Pellice, Italy, started construction on the dairy barn on his property in Valdese, NC. After the barn had been completed, work began on the main house. He built a rock veneered masterpiece, large enough to house his 7 children. He cleared a field for a vineyard and until his death in 1972 (at the age of 92), he made wine in the basement of the main house every autumn.

Extended space includes a 30’ x 40’ terrace and 16’ x 80’ pavilion that can be used as a lounge, cocktail hour, etc., a beautiful bridal suite and stately groom suite. The farmhouse boasts four bedrooms, three 1/2 bathrooms, a cozy living area with fireplace, and a modern kitchen, available as Air BnB; sleeps 12. The charming rental cabin offers three bedrooms, 1 ½ baths, a full kitchen, laundry and a cozy living area; sleeps 10. A serene creek runs through the property and a small pond, perfect for pictures. The Villa is a spacious estate home that can be used to celebrate your big day. Its spacious lawn and gardens can host events for groups up to 75 people. Rental of the Villa for an event includes the use of its outdoor spaces, plus numerous photo locations on the 85-acre property. We can also include lodging in the five-bedroom Villa for up to 12 people, ceremony and reception furnishings, and day-of services. (We are there to support you through every step of your day!) We also have additional lodgings on the property in our treehouse cabins that can be rented as lodging. We love the opportunity to host family groups who use the whole property. Homewood is a beautifully restored 1920s stone manor located in Asheville's post-Victorian historic district of Montford. The elegant castle was originally built as a private home.
