“My Husband and I visited 5 venues and fell in love with not only the Holly Vault but also Alisa and her team. We fell in love with the unique space and felt that it was the perfect space for us. We loved that the venue offered and/or included: linens, tables, chairs, silverware, plates, catering, drinks, coordinator, getting ready space, and ceremony options. Alisa is the best of the best and thought about every detail that I would never have thought about. She made our day memorable and seamless from start to finish. We were truly able to live in the moment and didn’t have to worry about getting drinks, missing our desserts or appetizers because they were placed at our table throughout the night. “I was about 4 months out from my wedding date when I came to terms that I needed help - as any bride who thought they could do it all on their own lol. I was struggling finding my last two vendors - draping & aisle runner. I knew on the day of the wedding I simply just could not be everywhere at once and needed extra hands. Luckily I came across Monica on Zola and thank God I did. I mainly reached out to her to assist with the rehearsal and day of coordinating but she went above and beyond that. In addition to helping secure my last two vendors, Monica made sure I stayed on top of everything and gave suggestions on things I didn’t even think of in regard to smaller details and flow of events. She was readily available if ever I needed her opinion or guidance on anything…. Or if I needed to just vent and rant lol. I literally did not have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding because of Monica and her assistant. They executed everything to a tee. Monica is dependable, empathetic, efficient and a joy to work with. If we ever do another large scale celebration, we will be sure to reach out to Monica again. Highly recommend!”

I’m Julia - people always ask me how long I’ve been a photographer for and the cliché (but true) answer is for forever. I’ve walked through many alleys that led me to photographing weddings. I worked for the Field Museum photographing meteorites during my college years in Chicago, then worked as a freelancer in the automotive industry when I moved back to Michigan, and worked in a studio photographing everything from seniors to pets. It wasn’t until 5 years ago I decided I loved photographing weddings and couples. I feel like they’re all connected somehow. I'm lucky I found my niche and even luckier that I got to run with it.

To future brides & grooms reading our review: If you are going to do anything right for your wedding day (besides marrying your best friend), hire Julia as your wedding photographer!!! We can not stress enough how much Julia impacted our wedding day. First, she has your back. She helped us keep calm and keep our timeline on track. Julia had a great sense of reading the room. She was by our side when we needed her. Second, we had a BLAST! Julia kept our energy UP (she's a Leo, if you know you know). She had both of us laughing, smiling, and overall happy. Even our bridal party and family LOVED Julia's professionalism and how she conducts group photos. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her and plan on using her in the future. She's seriously that good. Third, her photography style was exactly what we needed. She is super knowledgeable about poses, lighting, background, etc. She was honest and explained why she had us do certain pictures. She took into account any preferences we had (standing on the left side rather than the right, mobility concerns, etc). Also, be ready to get creative! Overall, Julia is the best wedding photographer we could've asked for and so happy she got to capture our wedding day!
