“TLDR: Hiring Modern Highway for our wedding was, hands down, the best decision my wife and I made for our big day. First and foremost, they are all talented, professional, and brought a large repertoire to the table. Christina is a fantastic singer, with big range. She is also a great business person, again with exceptional range - handling our light, acoustic service music, our post-wedding cocktail music, and our reception music. All live - which kicked the sheeet out of a DJ. She also MC’d. For weddings, hitting hitches is bad - there were none. The long version: Our wedding was a Sunday. It was in a more remote area from LA - Temecula. My wife had just been injured in a car accident - so we were a little nervous but the event was still a go with many people flying in. I am a musician and my wife and I had made the decision that live music was what we wanted for our big celebration. In hindsight, my only regret is the Sunday wedding because we hired Modern Highway to do our music and they were on fire. And some guests had to think about…Monday. But Christina and the band really held things together. It was a fun event and a big piece of that was the music. Christina brought a tremendous amount of energy. Her voice is electric and, when it came time to dance, the band brought it. Christina was very active moving through the crowd, dancing and singing. It is so hard to do that well - to be the energy. Where we needed “other” services, for first dances, parent dances, introductions, ceremony, etc., Christina & Modern Highway had it all covered. In a few cases we needed streamed music - covered. We needed someone to make the event go from the mic - covered. In a unique circumstance, my own band wanted to play - covered. If I’d been them, I would have said no. And frankly, based on what I saw from Christina, we could not have had a better person handling the mic that night. My wife and I look back on our wedding day as a true blessing - a day we were ecstatic about on the spot. I know a big piece of our internal satisfaction is knowing the entertainment was top notch. I wish Christina could have been our photographer as well!”

We first met Seth at a wedding vendor expo event at our reception venue and were immediately impressed by the quality of his sound system and his ability to mix the selected soundtrack live. Seth is very communicative. In our first meeting with Seth, it was already immediately apparent that he was very experienced and very passionate about making our wedding day special and everything that we wanted it to be. We felt very comfortable that he knew what he was doing, and on the day of the wedding he executed flawlessly. As for the preparation work, Seth schedules multiple meetings with you leading up to your wedding day which eases a lot of the nerves heading into busy planning season. Seth also has an app that you can download on your phone which is awesome because it allows you to edit details of your wedding day timeline and playlist on-the-go as we were making decisions during the planning months. On the day of the wedding, Seth came prepared having downloaded all the music that we talked about ahead of time and he kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT (over 3 hours). Seth responded to the audience and was able to mix a variety of genres that we had requested (like country, pop, spanish music, musical songs, etc) over various sets across the evening. He also coordinated our photo booth which was a nice touch that all the guests really enjoyed and had a second person stationed there for help all night. We couldn't recommend Seth enough to other couples who are in need of a DJ! Thank you, Seth!”

Rob and his team helped us make custom cuts of our ceremony music at no additional cost. We also booked our uplights through their team, and they were beautiful. Not only could you select the color, but the lights could also be programmed to cycle through colors for more of a party vibe. I could not recommend DJ Jeff Collins more highly. He was professional and on time, and most importantly, had incredible energy. He hit all of our requests for the evening, both for the dinner portion of the night and the dance party afterwards. “We hired Bob Gail's dance band "Higher Ground" for our wedding last month at the Bel Air Bay Club. Having a live band at our wedding was always my dream but admittedly not my fiancee's or her family's. Any skepticsim completely evaporated by the time the wedding reception started. Our band--11 pieces, including trombone--was spectacular. I really can't say enough about how fun the evening was with Higher Ground leading the dance floor. We, and all our guests, danced non-stop. From start to finish, the band's song selections perfectly matched the energy throughout the evening. Every member was super talented, with the lead singers perfectly capturing the sound and feel of the original songs but with an energy that is only possible performed live. We were seriously impressed with their sheer versatility, jumping effortlessly between different genres and eras. We also had a few specific requests that the band very flexibily accommodated. We had choreography for our first dance and the band offered to rehearse with us before the reception. We also wanted to play some recorded songs during the band's breaks and they wove our songs into their own set list seamlessly. Bob Gail also offered a very intuitive song selection tool on which we could specify which songs we wanted to hear at the wedding. They even went out of their way to learn a song that was not part of their set list but that they knew we love. The band members were also incredibly friendly and gracious. They felt like a part of the family for the night. Even now, a month after the wedding, we still have family members tell us how great the band was and one guest even told me she can't wait to hire them for her own son's wedding no matter the cost.”
