Banner Ranch is a rustic all outdoor venue located in the historic mining region of Julian, CA, and a scenic 12-minute drive east from Main St. We are situated in an area blessed with stunning mountain views, historic mines, and close to the PCT. Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. This beautiful venue sits atop a picturesque knoll overlooking the historic town of Julian. Sherry Horton, owner of Oakwood Creek Celebrations, offers signature style that everyone—no matter their affair—will find "oh so easy". Growing up in rural Ohio, Sherry brings the style of country that is reminiscent of simpler gracious time, learning from her grandmother Emma Barrett of all things romantically beautiful. Sherry’s work has been featured in Country Living Magazine, Where Women Create, and San Diego Magazine.

We have two venues: *The Island -- Lake Cuyamaca has a scenic, natural site suitable for small outdoor weddings. Venue is rented for 6 daylight hours. Tables & chairs are not included.  *Ole Firehouse -- The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include: the venue room, a full kitchen, two restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room/loft space. It has a 80-person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed & a 100-person capacity when they are open. In 2002, Rusty discovered the Jamul Valley. He found the granitic soils, warm days and cool nights to be ideal for grape growing. Rusty added an orchard of pomegranates, tangerines, lemons, plums, oranges and apples. Enjoying wine and the fun-ness that comes with it, Rusty was taken by Kerri's love of the vine and together they embarked on planting wine grapes. Life as they had known it changed forever. Kerri's southern Texas hospitality and Rusty's ingenuity have created Rustic Ridge - a very special place. Gardens, fountains, and our warm and inviting tasting room welcome wine enthusiasts with an authentic hospitality.
