I have designed and created florals for weddings and events up and down the eastern seaboard, a small town boy never strays too far. My small company also offers Planning and Coordination packages and I have great relationships among many vendors and venues. Hi! I'm Cassandra, full-time flower lover and designer. New mom to my son, River and doodle owner. When I’m not flowering, I love to cook (more-so eat), go on hikes and spend beach days in Belmar where I can watch my husband, Kirk, play volleyball. I’ve backpacked solo across 7 countries and traveled to many more. I love all the ADVENTURE! If it's not plain to see, I love working with flowers and creating special moments for our clients. We take on a limited amount of events per season so we can cater to each client personally so don't hesitate to reach out!

I first entered the floral design world as an intern in 2016 and noticed a lack of originality in designs and a need for more connection between the florist and the couple. When I started WFD in 2019, I decided to prioritize both artistic designs and building long-term relationships with each couple. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

A Lily Among Thorns is a floral design studio in Northern New Jersey. Isabel’s love for flowers stemmed from a young age, as she was often found picking wild flowers barefoot. After receiving her bachelor's degree in English Language Arts, her second love, she found that there was even more poetry to be found in the flowers she had always loved. Now, she works in wedding and event floral design with a limited amount of couples a year.
