Warwick, MD

  • Limited services

Worsell Manor has an incredible history and a new life thanks to the loving restoration by its current owners. The estate was granted in 1683 and was a favored stopping ground for George Washington who enjoyed the parties thrown at this elegant and intimate property still nestled in natural woodlands and ag preserved lands.

We were one of the first weddings back in 2016 at Worsell Manor, so I know a lot has changed, but we couldn’t have been happier! We loved the old feel of the barn and house and immediately felt this was our place as soon as we walked in. The price was right and owners amazing! We’ve been back for our maternity photo shoots and with kids now because we love it so much!

We fell in love with Castle Farm the second we started touring it. Not only is it a stunning venue at every turn, but Catherine and Darren are incredible; Catherine told us everything we needed to know, even things you may not think of immediately. She answered any questions we had promptly, even in the chaos of wedding season, and she helped us with setting up our reception area when there was a miscommunication with other vendors, because she “refused to let us work on our wedding day.” Castle Farm is way more than just a gorgeous venue. You are a part of that family once you’re there and we are forever grateful that we got to experience the beauty of the property, and work with such amazing people.

In June of 2022, my husband and I had the pleasure of getting married at Drumore Estate, and I must say, the staff, especially Marnie, made the entire experience truly exceptional. Marnie's dedication and professionalism added a special touch to our celebration, making it a day to remember. The venue itself exuded charm and elegance, providing a picturesque backdrop for a perfect wedding. The stunning ambiance of Drumore Estate left such an impression that our guests assumed we had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the venue. The breathtaking setting and meticulous attention to detail at Drumore Estate created an atmosphere of luxury and elegance, making our wedding day feel truly opulent. It's a testament to the venue's ability to provide a high-end experience that wows guests without breaking the bank. Despite a hiccup with the seating chart that I, as the bride, only discovered through wedding photos three months later, Marnie proved to be an absolute lifesaver. Her exceptional handling of the issue showcased her dedication and problem-solving skills. Thanks to Marnie's efforts, what could have been a major disappointment turned into a testament to the venue's commitment to customer satisfaction. Kudos to Drumore Estate and a special thanks to Marnie for saving the day! Drumore Estate exceeded expectations and made our celebration unforgettable.

The grounds are beautifully kept and offered so many photo opportunities for my daughter’s dream come true wedding. The staff was very knowledgeable and monitored the weather forecast and offered great suggestions when Mother Nature decided to throw us a curve ball. I highly recommended using one of their day of coordinators. Stephanie was ours and as the Mother of the bride and Matron of Honor, I could not have done it without her attention to detail. She was able to bring my daughter’s vision to reality. It really is a hidden gem!

My Husband and I got married at Historic Ashland on 4/16/23. I can not recommend this venue enough! This venue was a top contender right from the very start. They had several different packages that appealed to us as we were not sure how big of a wedding we were going to have initially. Right off the bat they were quick to follow-up with our inquiry and answer any questions that we had. Once you see this venue in person you realize how incredible and versatile it is and left no room for doubt. For the staff: Leah is extremely attentive and personable to work with. You can tell that this venue is her baby and invests all the love and care that is evident through out the entire grounds and all the details. She is an incredible resource and I would also recommend reaching out early after you have booked this venue as she has great insights on the different vendors you can use to stay within your budget. It is one area I wish I utilized earlier on in the process. Amanda was our Day of Coordinator and was incredible from preplanning, rehearsal and day of the wedding. She had everything and anything on hand that you would need. I have no idea if anything didn't go according to plan because she handled things effortlessly and from our perspective it was the perfect day with no hiccups. We actually were ahead of schedule all day which made for a very relaxed bride, groom and wedding party. We never felt rushed which I think really helped us soak in the whole day to its fullest. Additionally, Leah and Amanda invited us to their private facebook group for couples getting married that which is a valuable resource on your own. They post updates regularly in there and you are able to connect and ask questions of other brides and grooms who are getting married or were married at HA. For the venue: The mansion to get ready was amazing; very spacious, filled with light, convenient for our hair and make-up vendors and was a beautiful back drop for photos. The cottage which my husband and his groomsman/family used to get ready was the perfect size. They played darts, had a couple of pre-ceremony drinks and relaxed comfortably. There are so many ceremony sites and back-up options to cater to your wedding vision. We had our April/Spring ceremony outdoors under the trees and pergola, had cocktail hour outside on the patio and lower lodge and then the reception upstairs in the lodge. Each location had their own feel and vibe that flowed effortlessly. It also was so convenient to have all 3 events in the same location. Leah, Amanda and the whole Historic Ashland Staff really make you feel like family throughout the entire process and after. Following the day, I forgot my customized hanger that Leah so kindly found and mailed back along with a small gift that my husband and I both cherish and wear. You can not go wrong with Historic Ashland and if you choose them you will be forever grateful and happy that you did. Thank you!!

Stokesay Castle

4.8

Reading, PA
  • Up to 350 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

Whether you're going out for dinner or saying "I do", our castle is the perfect place for you. Built in 1931 and inspired by a 13th century English castle by the same name, Stokesay Castle was once the vacation home of the Hiester Family. Mr. Hiester spared no expense when it came to the 10 acre property he built for his fiancé. Local building materials and craftsmen were used, and great care was exercised in duplicating hand-carved beams, and leaded windows. Our owner, Jack Gulati had fond memories of Stokesay Castle and rescued it in March of 2009, from almost certain deprecation. Mr. Gulati dedicated millions to the restoration of the Castle, Ballroom and surrounding grounds. Upgrading much of the plumbing, electric and other amenities have left Stokesay in a memorable, yet modernized state. The vaulted cathedral ceilings still loom over the Lord’s Dining Room, only now there is a view into Stokesay Castle’s newest addition, The Knight’s Pub.
