Hi! I'm Nicole Murphy and I'm the lead photographer of The Murphys. I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph engagement sessions and weddings in 13 different states. Throughout the years I’ve documented intimate elopement ceremonies and weddings with over 250 guests. As an artist I crave a real connection with my couples. I look for couples who are truly in love and are willing to put their trust in my vision. My photographs are often described as warm, natural, romantic, and timeless. My goal is to create photographs that show your personality and will look beautiful throughout your lifetime. I can’t wait to hear all about your love story!

My passion for photography and weddings began when I was very young. I staged Barbie weddings, making their dresses from Kleenex, then snuck Mom’s camera to take pictures of them. I moved on to dressing up my little sister in a pillowcase veil, again sneaking Mom’s camera. When she got tired of me using up all her film, she brought home several Bride magazines from the free pile at the library and I spent hours reading them, then pinning pages of beautiful wedding dresses on the ceiling of my bedroom. When “The Wedding Planner” came out in 2001, my fate was sealed

My name is Michelle, but my friends call me Meesh, so you can too! Most days you can find me editing pictures at Starbucks, working on home projects with my husband, and probably drinking absurd amounts of sparkling water. I've lived in Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Iowa, and currently live in Northern Illinois so you could basically say my heart belongs to the Midwest. I take weddings and sessions all around the Midwest and really all over the country! I’ve been told I’m the “mom” of the friend group and I LIVE to be over prepared!

I grew up in a very small town called Colesburg, Iowa. I currently live in Dubuque again, but this time I live with my own family! My husband and I have quite the full house! A know-it-all 18 year old, a laid-back but sassy 12 year old, and a 6 year old who one day thinks he's a dinosaur and the next a Ninja Turtle. Oh, and not to mention we also have five cats, a Siamese (Owen) and a black cat (Daisy), and a Tabby cat (Astro), an orange tabby (Blaze), and another black cat (Spooky).
