Ola Distillery and Events was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. Their communication was clear, concise, and incredibly friendly throughout the entire planning process. The quality of their work and the value they provided was exquisite - they have such diverse options for couples, including their stunning oceanfront location with unique and historic elements. When it started raining on our wedding day, they seamlessly pivoted and moved our ceremony into the train tunnel, and it looked incredible - you'd never know it wasn't the original plan. This is truly the most beautiful and unique venue I've seen on this island, and I can't wait to come back and experience it again. Highly recommend Ola Distillery and Events to any couple looking for a one-of-a-kind wedding experience.

We had our anniversary party at Wild Blue Waters and we could not have imagined a better venue to have our party at! Shawn and Blaze are just the kindest people and they are so accommodating and understanding. We had the best experience working with them and will continue to book their venue for our party every year! Shawn went above and beyond to be available to us the whole entire weekend to help us with various things and he was a total lifesaver quite a few times! The venue itself is a true gem not often found on Hawai'i Island. There was room for a huge tent and dance floor, along with several other smaller tents. We had about 250 people at our party and there was room for everyone to camp who wanted to, with plenty of room left over. We also rented out the house which was a perfect landing spot for us during all the festivities. The ocean view is spectacular and can't be beat! The hot tub and pool really took our event to the next level! It was SO nice to have two showers and a flushing toilet as well. We seriously do not have any complaints about Wild Blue Waters, we will recommend them to everyone over and over again!

We had our wedding in August 2025 at the Fairmont Orchid with 130 guests, and it truly exceeded our expectations. We got married in the Coconut Grove, which was absolutely stunning, and hosted our welcome party in the courtyard. Both spaces created such a fun and seamless experience for our entire wedding weekend. We chose the Okika Wedding Package, which included many core elements for the ceremony and reception. Since we were also bringing in custom elements and outside vendors, it did make things a bit more complex, and in hindsight we may not have needed the highest-tier package. That said, it still provided a strong foundation for the overall wedding. Our Fairmont planner did change a few months before the wedding, but it ended up working out well. Aria was with us on our wedding day and was calm, helpful, and kept everything running smoothly. As a Bay Area couple, we did notice a bit of “Hawaii time” with communication early on, but we were told to expect that and responses became much quicker as the wedding approached. The food really stood out. During our tasting, we were surprised by both the presentation and taste. It felt elevated and not like typical wedding food. We chose plated meals, which were actually a little more affordable than a buffet. The Fairmont was also flexible and allowed us to make changes. We opted out of a plated dessert since we already had a three-tier cake, and instead added a Hawaiian ice bar for a small upcharge, which guests loved. We also did the prepaid bar package, which was 100% worth it. It made the night feel stress-free since we weren’t worried about a running tab and guests could fully enjoy themselves. Shipping items ahead was another huge plus. We sent personalized napkins, menus, and light-up leis to the hotel the month before, and they stored everything and delivered it to our room when we arrived. This made things so much easier since we were flying in. We brought in some outside vendors for personalization, including rentals, a day-of planner (Dayna at Naupaka Events, highly recommend), DJ Tiger and his wife who made the party so fun, Flower Me Pretty for gorgeous florals, BTS Dalhan for content creation, and Hawaii Sound and Vision who handled lighting, coordinated a fire dancing show, and arranged a live guitarist, Vaughn Valentino, for our ceremony. Our officiant, Kuha Tom, made the ceremony feel truly Hawaiian and magical. Photos by Apricity Wedding Photography. Multiple guests have told us it was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to. Dancing under the palm trees by the water was unreal. It was warm since it was summer time, but by the end of the night many of us jumped into the ocean fully dressed, which was a highlight. One of the best parts is that we can go back and visit anytime, which makes it even more special to us!

The Last Resort is so incredibly special. I have been a wedding planner on the Big Island for the past 8 years, and time and time again, couples are looking for a venue where many of their guests can stay on site and also hosts events. It is the most common request we get! And this venue is one of the very best - and is certainly the best value. The homes are STUNNING and so comfortable. Every detail, every piece of furniture, and every fixture was so carefully chosen. It is all comfortable and beautiful. For weddings, it also has so much going for it. There's plenty of parking, two fairly large lawns for the event space, a 200 year old Banyan tree that is a perfect backdrop for ceremonies or receptions, two large kitchens, both with plenty of space for catering teams, and great landscaping for photos. There's a peekaboo ocean view and the homes are very private and surrounded by forests and fields. It is just so special and tranquil. Lastly, the Last Resort is an amazing value! There is nowhere on our island, even close to as nice, for the price. I recommend all the time to our couples, and really to any couple planning a midsize or smaller wedding or event. It will absolutely exceed your expectations!
