As a child, I fell in love with Hawaii. When the opportunity presented itself in 2015 for me to return to the state permanently, I jumped at the opportunity. I relocated myself and the business to the Big Island, and have been living on the Island of Hawai’i ever since. After serving our nation as an Officer in the Air Force, I went back to school for a Masters in Counseling Psychology and accidentally found a passion for photography. Realizing that I love hearing and seeing the stories that surround us, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Professional Photography and founded Creation Swells Photography.

Hello! I'm an adventure elopement and intimate wedding photographer. We offer photo services for all sorts of small weddings, but specialize in hike-out elopements. I work with my husband, Joe, to make your dream intimate wedding or elopement a reality. I find the perfect locations for my couples and plan a fun adventure with lots of gorgeous photos, while Joe prepares a lovely ceremony (he's a Humanist minister) complete with guitar music (Joe's services are optional). We also offer all-inclusive elopements, complete with flowers, food, booze, cake, and more, so the only planning you have to do is get a wicked cool outfit and show up :)

Originally from Chicago, I grew up with my mother taking our photos. When I got to be a bit older I started to appreciate those photos and the lifetime memories they captured. I started taking photos for friend's events and gifting my photos at holidays. I was also a middle school teacher for 12 years and also coached the cross country team. I would take photos for the families and eventually blessed to be able to have photography be my full time gig.
