“We hired Kelly at Balsam to photograph our wedding! She was nothing short of professional, timely, and incredibly fun to work with. We had around 100 guests not including wedding parties, and Kelly managed to photograph all the important, goofy, and treasured moments throughout the whole day. She seemed to be everywhere at once and missed nothing, all without me (the bride) hardly even noticing when and where she was shooting. Getting the photos back was like reliving one of the best days of our lives. She also was kind and fliexible enough to help us figure out a livestream setup so my husband’s very dear grandfather, too sick to travel for the event, was able to be included in the ceremony. “Davey is always our go-to recommendation if we are ever asked to refer a wedding photographer. As a videographer who has worked alongside Davey on many weddings, I can attest that he is punctual, organized, creative and good with people. He connects well and seems to always establish a sincere and warm rapport with the bride and groom. Davey can be a calming presence if there's ever a tense moment. But he can also be assertive and efficient with time when calling out every combination of family members post-ceremony (when all guests want to rush off to the reception). Marissa, Davey's wife and most frequent second shooter, is an expert at presenting a scene differently while using so much creativity. She will put in the extra effort to, for example, arrange the rings perfectly and expertly atop the bouquet while the flowers are pointed just so to make the best use of available sunlight etc etc. Davey and Marissa are all-star vendors because they've seen it all. They deliver consistent quality too. Some photographers can have a great smiley couple, a great venue and can easily have portfolio worthy photos from one Saturday. Davey's done that. But what's important is that he can take any wedding in any location and produce the highest quality work. Davey's style is timeless. I confess, he took my wedding photos 11 years ago. They really hold up. Styles and trends change, but with Davey you get consistency, reliability, experience and photos you will treasure for the rest of your life.
