As soon as we arrived, we were so glad that we had chosen Milton Ridge and knew that we had made the right choice. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They were with us through every step of our wedding day with lots of support and smiles. The cottage for getting ready is very cute, the chapel is beautiful, and the reception hall is great as well. They have many services included in their various wedding packages like catering, DJ, photographer, and cake. They also have outside vendors that they work with frequently, such as hair and make-up and a florist, who are all wonderful. They are inclusive, and they are supportive of LGBT weddings. My now wife and I are part of the LGBT community, and we were treated very well by the entire team. We were able to have our wedding exactly how we wanted, and they worked with us on every detail. On the day, they had the entire day scheduled and kept us on track, which is actually so necessary and helpful on a day when you're trying to do so many things. Everything went smoothly and as stress free as a wedding can be. It was truly a wonderful day. Thank you so much to the whole team! -Harley and Jackie

Cloverdale Barn is a beautiful, rustic venue! We wanted a venue where we could have an outdoor ceremony with a great view, with an indoor reception that would be easy to decorate to reflect our style. Cloverdale Barn made our wedding dreams come true! Claire, the owner, allowed us to make the barn our own and was very easy to work with. She was kind, understanding, flexible and knowledgable. Being new to the area, we really relied on her to make recommendations for other vendors needed for the wedding. I highly recommend Cloverdale Barn to anyone that wants a simple yet elegant wedding!

Shenandoah Valley Golf Club was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From the moment we first spoke with Tracey, the event coordinator, we knew we were in good hands. She was attentive, caring, and clearly knowledgeable about every aspect of hosting a wedding at their lovely facility. Tracey was personally invested in ensuring our special day went smoothly, and it did - everything flowed as seamlessly as it could have thanks to her hard work behind the scenes. The architecture and scenery of the golf club were absolutely stunning, providing an amazing backdrop for our ceremony and reception. And the food was truly exceptional; we took Tracey's recommendations for the reception food and had zero issues. Guests commented on how good the chicken was! Some of the best wedding cuisine we've ever tasted. Shenandoah Valley Golf Club offered great value for the quality, and we're so grateful to Tracey and the entire team for making our wedding day dreams come true.

Cacapon Resort is also a draw for history buffs due to its proximity to the historic town of Berkeley Springs and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Like others have said, do yourself a favor and book the Manor at Airmont! When we toured The Manor for our wedding, we instantly knew that was it! Anthony and Natallia were so great to work with and so welcoming. We actually joked that if there was a fire, we wouldn’t even know and they would take care of it! Well, that’s kind of what happened (not a real fire, thank goodness)! I found one of our guest’s speeches in our guest book with a burnt mark and we had no idea. Natallia made our vision come to life! The food was fantastic and the staff and bartenders were amazing! Our guests continue to say they had such an amazing time and was one of the best weddings they had been to! So, if you want an all-inclusive wedding venue and to work with people that will take care of you and make your dreams a reality, then definitely choose The Manor at Airmont! From the design, the florals, the food, and guest experience, it was everything we could have imagined! Thank you Natallia & Anthony and your whole family!

We got married at Briar Patch in October 2024 and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the venue was and how kind and communicative the venue owners were. Any time we had questions they were so quick to answer. I loved that we could have any vendors we wanted, but they also provided a list of wonderful recommendations. The price was also wonderful for the area! Having the venue for the whole weekend was such a great experience for our whole bridal party who stayed onsite.

Showalter’s Orchard

5.0

Timberville, VA
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $5,300

Over the years, we've enjoyed sharing our farm with our friends and family for their uniquely beautiful weddings. Seeing our extraordinary aerie from their perspective reminded us to take in how special it is, and it inspired us to redesign and renovate a former greenhouse. We’ve created a belvedere of sorts with walls of windows that make a feature of our wondrous view of the Shenandoah Valley.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Surrounded by beautiful vineyards
  • Rustic-chic setting

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • Does not have a dance floor
Showalter’s was one of two venues on our short list, and we’re very glad we decided to go with them. We wanted a mountain view during the ceremony and the terrace was absolutely perfect. The greenhouse is gorgeous and looks amazing both in person and in photographs and was the perfect backdrop. We served cider and apple cider donuts and our guests loved both. It felt so unique and special! Working with everyone at the venue was incredibly easy, and they were so kind and welcoming to us and felt like they really wanted to make sure our day went well. We booked all of the AirBnBs on the property and would definitely recommend doing so. The “bridal” suite off of the Greenhouse was great for staging and getting a moment away during the wedding, having the extra space for actually getting ready was a very good choice (especially with larger wedding parties and lots of people doing hair and makeup). We also stayed in one of the AirBnBs the night before and afterwards, and being on the property was incredibly convenient as hotels in Harrisonburg are a bit of a hike. The AirBnBs were cute and worked great for our purposes! We stayed in one of the AirBnBs through to the Monday after our Saturday wedding which was great and made it so that we didn’t have to rush getting everything out the morning after the wedding. Rixey Manor

5.0

Rixeyville, VA
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor
  • Starts at $8,000

We are proud and happy to help curate every wedding to our couple's romantic specifications. We include coordination, and no 'must use' vendors list so you can make your wedding personal and relaxing. We only offer totally private rentals, so you can feel like your guests are visiting you in your own home. Our pet-friendly property even lets you bring your pups. Rixey offers the most spectacular views... from the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains on one side, to the bottom of Rixey Lake on the other. Our rooftop and patio spaces make for a magical setting both at sunset and at night, and the Ballroom, complete with climate control and ADA-accessible bathrooms, means that inclement weather won't have a negative effect on your special day. The history of the house lends an air of vintage elegance, but what most of our couples love is the comfy atmosphere provided by big sofas, real fires, and the ability to curl up at the end of the night in the library with your favorite people.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Flexible event spaces
  • Offers full-service amenities
  • Pets can join the celebration

Venue considerations

  • No venue-provided food services
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Best for events with big guest lists
Where do I even begin?… The Rixey Manor team was the absolute best. I just got married there this week and it was a dream come true. The venue itself is gorgeous but the team at Rixey Manor is something so special. Isadora and Grace took away all of the stress me and my now husband had. They made me feel so cared for and so important. They went above and beyond to make me, my husband & our families feel like royalty. Everyone kept mentioning to us how impressed they were at how professional and thoughtful Isadora and Grace are. Isadora made sure that I felt important and helped me with absolutely everything that day. She completely took charge of the day and all me and my husband had to do was show up. My 2nd dress strap kept breaking and Isadora was always there fixing it and she always did it graciously. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people on my wedding day. The Rixey team is honestly a bunch of very special people who genuinely love what they do and they show so much love to the bride and groom. I also want to add that they were so attentive, caring and helpful when it came to my parents who both have a disability. I can go on for hours about how much I appreciate and legitimately care about Isadora and Grace. These people make dreams come true and my husband and I, along with our families are so grateful for them.
