Our wedding at Meyer's Castle was nothing short of magical, and we owe so much of that to our incredible coordinator, Eva.

From day one, Eva was organized, thoughtful, and so genuinely caring. She made sure every detail was in place and that everything ran smoothly--not just behind the scenes, but for me personally as the bride. The day was beautiful, but hot, and Eva went above and beyond to make sure I stayed comfortable and calm. At one point when I was feeling overheated, she literally helped pin my hair up herself. That kind of kindness, grace, and hands-on support is something I'll never forget.

Meyer's Castle was the most stunning backdrop to our big day. The grounds are breathtaking, the atmosphere is so elegant, and our guests were completely blown away by the beauty of it all. Every part of the venue felt like it was straight out of a fairytale--from the ceremony setting to the castle charm that made the whole day feel surreal.

I truly can't imagine having done this without Eva by our side. She was a calm in the chaos, a true professional, and someone who genuinely cared about making our day perfect.

If you're thinking about booking Meyer's Castle--do it. And if you're lucky enough to have Eva as your coordinator, just know you're in the best hands. I'll be forever grateful for her and this dreamy venue that brought our love story to life.

Thank you, Eva & Meyer's Castle, for a day we'll cherish forever!

Firehouse Chicago is magical! My husband and I got married here on the Friday of Labor day weekend and we had the best day of our lives! We toured a few places a year prior and when we left our tour for Firehouse Chicago, we just knew this must be the place! What stands out about Firehouse Chicago is the people, Sarah and Teddy are wonderful to work with for all your planning needs, which trust me as a type A person, I had so many questions. They approached every question with care and really supported our vision and if our vision changed, they were down for that too! Firehouse Chicago provides a thoughtful vendor list that really made all the wedding planning seamless and our vendors all mentioned how much they love working at Firehouse Chicago! The space itself is perfect. I love plants and being outdoors so having our ceremony in the garden area was truly a dream come true. The Firehouse is so well decorated and furnished so well that you don’t have to do a lot of wedding decor. We loved that space immediately and seeing it full of everyone we love at our wedding was incredible! So to summarize, the venue was perfect, our wedding flowed so well and felt like us, and was the perfect backdrop to celebrate our love story. Sarah, Teddy, Heidi, and Shanna were the BEST to work with. We are truly grateful for the care and attention Firehouse Chicago provided us during the planning process and day of!! Best space, best vendor list, and best vibes for a Chicago wedding! Photos by: Anna Jung-Hwa Photography

Colvin House

Colvin House is an extraordinary wedding venue featuring an inviting glamorous interior, large outdoor reception areas, beautiful gardens, beach access & unforgettable views of Lake Michigan. Designed in 1909 by visionary Prairie School architect, George W Maher, the mansion is a historic landmark and was a private residence before its current life as an events venue & coworking space. We pride ourselves on fostering inclusivity & we strive to reduce wedding waste by having almost everything needed onsite while also allowing couples vendor flexibility. Previous residents added details reflecting the styles of grand movie theaters and the glamorous neoclassical revival flair of the 1920’s and 1930’s, giving the house a relaxed but unified mix of architectural styles. From the majestic crystal chandelier escorting you down the grand staircase to the marble fireplaces, we invite you to imagine the house is yours for the day as you invite family and friends in to celebrate your union.

Why you'll love this venue

  • All-inclusive venue packages
  • Historic touches
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options
We were drawn to Colvin House because of the mansion's historic details, but believe it truly shines when paired with the talents of Pyrite Sun, their in-house planning, catering, rentals, and floral team. We met with Sarah (Colvin's Events Manager/Owner of Pyrite Sun) to tour the space and ended up hiring Pyrite Sun for our entire wedding at Colvin House. Not only was it convenient to have everything under one roof, but we had a personalized wedding experience like no other–complete with vintage furniture, plates, and coupes, the most incredible floral from Colvin's gardens, and a customized food menu that our guests still rave about. I also love that Sarah recommends great vendors they've worked with and happily coordinates whatever you need with any other vendors you'd like to hire, as well. Overall, an incredibly special experience you won't find anywhere else. Thank you, Colvin House and Pyrite Sun, for making our vintage glamour wedding dreams come true!
