We are so happy that we chose the Whiskey Factory as our wedding venue! From the first time we toured The Whiskey Factory, we fell in love with the casual, comfortable vibe that the space gave, and we knew it fit our vision perfectly. The Whiskey Factory’s partnership with Two Unique makes catering and rentals so easy and not at all overwhelming. We worked extensively with Amelia throughout the planning process who was always so sweet, professional, and happy to answer my countless questions in the months leading up to our wedding day. Their checklists leading up to the wedding took off a lot of stress and put me at ease that I was not forgetting anything. The cocktail tasting was SO fun, and one of our favorite parts of the planning process! Fast forward to wedding day–our wedding could not have gone more perfectly! We had both our ceremony and reception at the venue, and their room flip process was so seamless for our guests! The Whiskey Factory’s bar tenders are quick and personable, and our guests loved that they never had to wait for a drink. We also purchased an empty barrel for our guests to sign, which has become an awesome addition to our basement bar! Our guests raved about how good the specialty cocktails, beer, and other drinks were, and how cool and unique the venue was. We will forever relive our perfect day and cannot recommend the Whiskey Factory enough. Thank you Amelia, Alyssa, and The Whiskey Factory Team!

Garden Theater

5.0

Detroit, MI
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $10,000

Renowned “movie palace” architect C. Howard Crane designed Detroit’s historic Garden Theater, a commission he earned after he opened his own firm in Detroit in 1908. In addition to the Garden Theater, Crane has 250 theaters to his credit, 62 of which were built in Detroit, like The Majestic, The Fox, Orchestra Hall, the Detroit Opera House, and The Fillmore Detroit. One of the city’s earliest neighborhood theaters, the Garden Theater opened to the public in 1912. With its 900-seat capacity, it was one of the largest theaters built outside downtown; it originally hosted live stage shows and motion pictures. As the name implies, Crane cleverly incorporated vines, birds and other garden-style decorations in its design to immerse patrons in an outdoor-like experience. After decades in ruin, the theater underwent a multi-million-dollar restoration and was rededicated in 2013, a century after its initial debut, as part of Midtown’s vibrant resurgence.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • Requires outside catering services
  • Not wheelchair accessible
From the moment we first reached out to the team at Garden Theater, we were impressed by their detail-oriented, proactive, and personalized service. Their incredible attention to detail took a lot of the stress out of planning our wedding. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and unique, and the dedicated team was committed to making our day perfect. They went above and beyond to accommodate some special requests, and everything turned out even better than we had hoped. Biko, Amy, and BJ were so professional and attentive throughout the process, and they even helped the groom plan a special surprise for the bride that wowed all the guests. We are so grateful to the Garden Theater team for making our wedding day truly unforgettable.

It was amazing to see my favorite music venue transformed for our wedding, we loved everything about it. Working with event coordinator Mellisa was a great experience, she was so helpful and thoughtful throughout the whole process. We had rave reviews on the food from our guests, especially the elephant ears for dessert. The chef even made separate dishes for myself and a bridesmaid who are vegetarians. The bar service was also awesome and super friendly. Our guests were very pleased with the variety. The overall flow of the wedding went great, and the team made sure everyone was in their places when needed. We also got to take some pretty awesome photos throughout the venue complex, including the Garden Bowl. The band we hired sounded and looked great with the house lights and sound. I cannot say enough good things, I would do it all over again! It was everything I could have wanted and more. Thank you soooooo much, Majestic Team!!!

The Eastern is a wonderful industrial, versatile venue in the heart of Eastern Market in downtown Detroit! This venue comes as a blank slate. So many different options as to how you can dress this venue up for a wedding/event. Be sure to use the few large wooden tables it comes with for your buffet table, hors d’oeuvre table, seating outdoors, head-table etc. Look no further than The Eastern or The Norwood for your wedding! I would recommend this venue to any couple looking to have a wedding in a unique spot, rather than a ballroom.

  • Starts at $12,500

A Chic, Modern-Industrial Venue Near Ann Arbor, Michigan For The Trend-Minded Client We know that choosing a venue that is epically unique AND checks all the functional boxes can be stressful and darn near impossible to find. You want to walk into a space and have it "sing" to you with all the possibilities but not overwhelm. As a newly transplanted event designer from California, we struggled to find a space that we could emphatically recommend to our clients. Most spaces lacked the vibe and functionality our clients are looking for with the blank slate to create something truly personal. So, we created it! The perfect blend of California boho and functionality to help you and your guests have an epic and Instagram worthy event to share with your followers, proudly.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Offers full-service amenities
  • Feels like a getaway
  • Classic elegance

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues
We had our wedding at the Collins off Main in August and it was everything we could imagine and more!! The space itself lends you to have whatever vibe for your wedding you could want and the team at the Collins is really what makes the place. We were going for a garden lush elegant yet fun wedding and had the best time. We liked getting to choose all of our vendors, having flexibility with bar/food service, a different space for ceremony (at the Clocktower a block away), and most of all having an outdoor area that is tasteful and fun. We also loved the after-party feature and it was so easy to move guests there after the reception ended. Jess and the team were thorough with the design planning and took what was in our brains and put it into the venue seamlessly (from the couples perspective) working with the other vendors; as well as acting as day of coordinator being extremely helpful. They have decor which couples can borrow and also easy to collaborate with rentals for chairs, table ware, etc. We enjoyed staying in the suite the night before and after the wedding which made getting ready and pictures go smoothly. I would recommend the Collins off Main to anyone!!

The Great Lakes Culinary Center was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. Communication with Cassie, the venue coordinator, was excellent throughout the planning process. She responded to emails promptly and was always willing to jump on a call to discuss details. On the big day, everything ran seamlessly thanks to Cassie and Reva, the chef, working together to make it all happen! The open concept made the room feel welcoming while our guests enjoyed remarkable food prepared by Reva and her team. Every fine detail of the venue contributed to a warm, modern atmosphere that suited our style perfectly. We highly recommend the Great Lakes Culinary Center to any couple searching for a receptive, talented venue team, delicious cuisine, and a beautiful, open reception space. In the months leading up to my wedding, we had three venues cancel. Two closed, another was shut down due to HVAC issues. The third cancelled TWO WEEKS before the wedding. Detroit Circle Center saved the day. They were so willing to work with us last minute, and I wish we had known about them beforehand to just go with them in the first place. The venue is beautiful, I think I initially described it to people as jazz age industrial vibes. I was immediately obsessed with the circular windows. The layout was absolutely perfect; one room for the ceremony, move one room over for drinks and appetizers, then downstairs for the reception. The staff were so helpful throughout the whole day, and they had a great recommendation for a bar tender. It truly was so easy to work with them exactly when I needed something easy and fast. The fact that they were willing to meet with us and the decorator multiple times and help us whip everything up in just two weeks was amazing. I could not recommend them enough for any event, they were absolutely wonderful.
