Rancho Nicasio

5.0

Nicasio, CA
  • Up to 300 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $5,000

Tucked away among the rolling hills of Marin County sits the quaint village of Nicasio, which means “the hidden one”. Nicasio has been unspoiled by time, set in a secluded valley and surrounded by views of grassy hills, woods, and placidly grazing ranch animals. Rancho Nicasio is the town’s heart and soul, set at the north side of Nicasio’s New England-style town square

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides catering services
  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
  • Does not have a dance floor
  • No free parking
We held an intimate reception at Rancho Nicasio in the Western Room and it was absolutely incredible. The building in general is beautiful but the Western room was so warm and inviting. The rental included the use of a large patio and it gave my guests plenty of room to spread out and mingle. There is also plenty of parking! The food was absolutely delicious and was a generous portion size. The real highlight of this venue however is the event coordinator Marina! She treated my small reception with the care and attention of a large event. She had the answer for every question I had and was always very easy to get a hold of. The way Marina and her team decorated the space was even more beautiful than what I had imagined in my head. Just a few weeks before my event I had a family member go through a sudden surgery and when I reached out to Marina about discussing some dietary accommodations she jumped right onto finding the perfect meal for them and truly went out of her way to make sure my guest was taken care of. Her compassion during a difficult time meant the absolute world to me and my family. If you're thinking about booking here do it asap! This place was truly a gem with absolutely incredible people working here!

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
  • No on-site guest accommodations
We had our wedding at Shadelands Ranch Museum in 2018 and couldn't have been happier with our decision! We had a few parameters to work within — a tight budget, a list of vendors we wanted to work with, and a large guest count. The staff at Shadelands were incredibly accommodating and easy to partner with. Since their policy allows food trucks and other mobile caterers, we were able to hire one of our favorite local BBQ restaurants to cater, which was a huge hit. The venue grounds are large enough to fit a sizeable group — perfect for our guests who brought children — they had plenty of room to run around on the lawn. In the summer, the venue adds string lights in the trees around their gazebo, creating a beautiful and romantic touch when the sun sets. The gazebo served as a beautiful centerpiece and the location for our photo booth. Our DJ had plenty of space to set up on the back patio, which doubled as the dance floor. The venue’s accessibility was incredible, with ample parking, clean restrooms, a kitchen, and a porch for the bride to ‘hide’ until the ceremony. And because the venue provided the tables and chairs, we only needed to rent table linens. Shadelands is the place to book if you want a beautiful and affordable outdoor wedding venue in Walnut Creek that can accommodate both your ceremony and reception. The attentive staff, accessible location, and flexibility around customization make it an ideal place to tie the knot!

From the moment we drove up to Crows Peak Ranch, we knew it would be a hard venue to beat. The blank canvas of the barn allows you to really create your vision of how you want your love story to unfold, and the picturesque ceremony site overlooking the forest below truly was the selling point for us. On our wedding day, the number one question was “how did you FIND this place? It’s absolutely STUNNING!” Pictures online truly don’t do it justice! We were able to use our creativity and truly customize our wedding weekend to be just the way we wanted. The price was unbelievable for the space & how much time you get on the property. The flexibility of our choice of vendors and the knowledge & helpfulness of Catherine throughout the process was the cherry on top! The story behind the venue was so special and we knew working with Catherine would be a breeze. We got to have our rustic, elegant & romantic day & it was truly magical!
