Your Something Old & New! Olde Dobbin Station will provide a unique experience for its clients through the use of old structures built in the early 1900’s, restored to their original look and feel, while adding a vintage touch. The buildings were initially used by oil companies as a “pumping station” and later became a famous place of fellowship for those in the community due to its Artesian Water Well. It became the community “swimming hole” according to many of the locals and remains a historical marker for the community and its residents. Olde Dobbin has recently renovated its final structure and officially has made it into a chapel. The “chapel” was initially used in the late 1800’s as a pump house for the nearby trains' steam.

House Estate, one of Texas’s premier wedding facilities, is centered around a lovingly restored 1890’s Victorian mansion (above). Set on 18 acres close to Houston, its lakes and views are stunning. Weddings in the mansion take place in the glass-walled Grand Room – which quickly transforms for dining and dancing. Shirley Acres is an all-inclusive wedding venue situated in North Houston, Texas. Deeply rooted in a tradition of hospitality, the team here believes in treating guests like family. As local residents, we felt our small, picturesque East Texas town of Splendora needed a unique attraction that would meet the wedding and events needs of our local and neighboring communities. When we first discovered this remote piece of property with the ideal-sized pond, we envisioned it with dreamy, flowing fountains that would create a romantic backdrop for the most memorable bridal/wedding scenery.
