Sweet Lilacs
Rating: 4.5 (2 reviews)
  • Serves Columbia, CA

Our studio operates as a collaborative art studio where we discuss, confer, disagree, experiment and delight in our work. We love the challenge of working with new styles and colors, different venues, unique tastes and most of all, different combinations of florals and foliage. Every week is different for us. The unique styles and trends stretch our creativity. We love the challenge. For example, café au lait dahlias have a ninety degree angle that is challenging in a round bouquet. So many little nuances. All this matters to us. We learn and grow with every event. The little details make a huge difference.

“Overall the florals were absolutely beautiful and I got so many compliments on them from my guests! The only thing I was disappointed with was I had no idea what the florals were going to look like until the day of. I thought my bouquet was going to be bigger, and I had specifically asked for lavender in my bouquet and instead of lavender there was some other light purple flower. It was very beautiful, don’t get me wrong, it’s just not exactly what I asked for or wanted.”

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (104 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Columbia, CA

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
“I highly recommend Flower Moxie!!! The flowers were amazing quality and I even had them delivered on time for a wedding three days after Christmas! I received my flowers 5-6 days in advance due to the holiday, and they still held up a few days after the wedding! The customer service was amazing, especially Alexa! She went out of her way to make sure she could help throughout any point of the service. She was very quick to respond and was very kind and sweet to work with! I highly recommend Flower Moxie and Alexa to help you with your flowers for any event! :)”

🌹 WE ARE NOT FRESH FLOWER FLORISTS. WE WORK WITH WOOD & FAUX FLOWERS. PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THIS IN YOUR REPLY. 🌹 Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Jen was AMAZING to work with! When it came to flowers for my wedding, I had NO IDEA what I wanted. She was very patient with me and helped talk me through my vision. She gave me flowers to pick from, talked about how big I wanted my bouquet and how much greenery I wanted, and then when I could find colors I liked in swatches, she color-matched the colors I wanted from an inspo pic I found online! She was very professional and patient with me, even when my plans changed or I needed to add to my order.  I am not the best at putting together a bouquet. I am also someone who likes control, especially when it came to planning my wedding. I was thankful that I was able to give Jen the reins, tell her what I wanted, and watch her make my dreams come true. When I first saw my flowers, I was speechless. She truly did make my floral dreams come true, and now I get to keep my bouquet for the rest of my life! A wooden flower bouquet from Jen is the way to go!”

“Lynda was an absolute dream to work with, and I truly cannot recommend 5 Daughters Design enough. From our very first conversation, Lynda was incredibly thoughtful, creative, and genuinely invested in bringing my wedding vision to life. Lynda designed all of our wedding florals and signage, and she was exceptionally hands-on throughout the entire planning process. We met several times over video call, where she took the time to walk through every detail imaginable, and even created mock-ups to help me visualize the overall look. She listened carefully to my design ideas, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made me feel completely confident that every element would come together beautifully for our wedding. One of the things that meant the most to me was Lynda’s willingness to incorporate sentimental flowers that was special to me and my family. That personal touch made the experience feel so much more meaningful. When I saw everything come together on our wedding day, I was absolutely blown away. The floral arrangements were stunning, the signage was beautifully designed, and every detail exceeded my expectations. Everything felt cohesive, elegant, and perfectly reflected the romantic, whimsical atmosphere we had envisioned. The flowers truly transformed our venue and played such a significant role in making our wedding day feel magical. Beyond her incredible talent, Lynda is kind, patient, responsive, and truly passionate about what she does. If you're looking for someone who will treat your wedding with the same care and attention as if it were her own, I wholeheartedly recommend 5 Daughters Design. I will forever be grateful for the beauty Lynda created and the unforgettable memories she helped make possible on our special day. Thank you, 5 Daughters Design!”

“The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!”
