Amanda Nguyen founded the company in 2017, determined to push the cake industry towards a more modern aesthetic, more nuanced flavors, using technology to create a better customer experience, and ethical treatment of food industry workers.

Raised in Ukraine, I grew up loving the delectable European cakes my mother would bake from scratch. This experience cultivated my love for sweets and baking, and taught me to appreciate desserts that offer both exceptional flavor and just the right amount of sweetness.

Pastry Chef LikLing Khoo started baking at a young age spending time baking with her mom. Trained at California Culinary Academy, she also worked at the famed Tartine Bakery in San Francisco upon graduation in the 2000's. LikLing spent over 10 years working at different resorts, restaurants and bakeries in Vermont and New York honing her skills in all areas of baking and pastry arts. She owned and operated Baker's Dream in New York offering various baked goods and desserts.

Since 1997, The Cakery has been producing its high quality product on the popular Burlingame Avenue. What makes The Cakery unique is that every item is crafted in the traditional methods that were common to the trade before the modernization of factories and big box outlets. They whip their eggs and cream their butter and sugar following recipes that are timeless and unforgettable. They offer a full line of cakes, cookies and pastries all made with the finest ingredients available.

Rocko's was founded in 2013 to serve carefully crafted and custom-made ice cream tacos using high quality, locally sourced, and organic ingredients; all wrapped up in one cute, little package. What started as a small ice cream cart eventually expanded into an ice cream taco truck and in Spring 2018, we opened our first brick-and-mortar store in Santa Clara, CA. Don't worry though, we still take the truck out regularly and can bring the ice cream taco cart to your next party!
