Homer, MI

We began our journey in 2015 with a dusty gravel pit and vision for a new home. The gem was the stunning 30 acre crystal clear lake. After purchasing the property we found ourselves hosting church activities and work functions as people truly loved being here. Slowly, we began adding amenities to the property. In 2020 one of our daughters got engaged. As she began looking for a venue to host her wedding we came to realize that the perfect spot was right in front of us. We wanted it to be a very special place and we went to work to create a beautiful wedding venue. There are many opportunities on the property for one of a kind pictures. There are three picturesque options in front of the lake for the service and a new reception building that can seat up to 200 guests. With a 5 acre campus larger weddings can be accommodated with tent rental. We offer DJ service, PA rental, bar service, and exceptional vendors for catering and coordination services.

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Multiple event spaces
  • Natural elegance with open spaces

“This place was GORGEOUS! It has beautiful outdoor ceremony sites, an amazing indoor reception spot that could have easily doubled as a ceremony site in the event of bad weather, his and hers silos, bathrooms, AND you can choose your own caterer (or do it yourself). They were so wonderfully accommodating and helpful…to the point where they were weed whacking the night of the rehearsal dinner to help us prepare the photo spots we needed. It was such a joy to have our wedding here! ”

“Where to start! If I could give more stars I would!! My spouse and I have been together for over 20 years and we wanted our fairy-tail wedding. Well we had it! We love the outdoors and feeling like we are up north! The moment we saw Twisted Roots, it screamed US!! The owners of the venue made it a spectacular day from start to finish. When I say start, I mean from the initial call. We were able to come out to do multiple site visits with our wedding party, family members, and our vendors. Erica and Jeffrey made us feel at home every time we stopped by! There offered suggestions and also were very open to ideas we threw their way. We were able to come in the day before the wedding to do an early set up and the day after our event to do our pick ups. This flexibility allowed us the wiggle room to just focus on the day itself. The venue setting is breathtaking!! We had our wedding under the pergola with a tent brought in for the reception. The venue offered a wonderful bridal suite, a grand room for also getting ready in, restrooms, outdoor electricity for our DJ, and lighting. Top that off with a bonfire!! If you are looking for a stunning unique venue, and you want to work with people who care about your special day, I recommend checking this location out!! Thank you, Erica and Jeffrey for making our day truly a once in a lifetime event!! Love, The Romej Family”

From the moment we first reached out, the staff were fast, informative, and sincere in their communication - they were truly eager to help make our day special. The venue itself is amazing, with a beautiful rustic and unique barn setting that helped make our wedding day so very special. The staff were around all day, pleasant and upbeat, and went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly with no hiccups. The DJ and officiant they suggested were also incredible, and all of the vendors they recommended turned out great. We couldn't have asked for anything more, and are so grateful to the Irish Hills Wedding Barn team for helping to make our wedding day absolutely perfect.”

“For starters, everything my husband and I imagined for our wedding came true because of Kruse Plaza. Both Annaliese and Lexi were phenomenal. My husband and I let them know what we wanted and they made all that come true. They were patient and were amazing to have throughout this experience. The day of the wedding Patrick and Lexi made sure we were good and treated us like royalty. Lexi went over everything with us to make sure we were ok with the flow. Anytime we had a question or needed some assistance, she was right there for us. She was the best! We couldn't have experienced anything better than this. When I first looked at the website, I fell in love. When we walked around with Patrick and did the tour, I fell in love even more. I knew this was the place I wanted to get married and if we were to do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing. If I was able to, Kruse Plaza would have more than 5 stars.”

“One day last July I saw online that The Barn had a cancellation and a wedding date in September. I reached out to inquire and Laura was SO kind, helpful and prompt with communication. We loved the venue and booked, sent out invitations and planned our wedding super quickly (after 10 years together.) Every step of the way went smoothly with planning and communication and we absolutely LOVED having our wedding there. We had room for a live band, there was plenty of parking, lots of great places for photo ops on the property, a lovely bridal room to get ready in, a silo gazebo, we could choose our own caterer, there plenty of seating (we loved the church pews and the wooden chairs,) and there were just so many other nice touches. We bought small glass jars which they filled with their honey (for a reasonable fee) and we gave our guests Honey Blossom Orchard honey as the wedding reception favor. (Btw-their honey IS absolutely delicious!) We can’t say enough good about The Barn as a wedding/reception venue and if you are looking for somewhere relaxed, rustic and beautiful to have your wedding, this is your place:)”

“We had our wedding and reception at Black Creek Ridge Flower Farm. Everything turned out great. The owners are very personable and easy to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. They have connections with the local vendors. That put our mind at ease knowing that they’ve worked together before and everything would run smoothly. The carriage house, on site, made it convenient and easy for me and my girls to get ready in before the ceremony. The property is beautiful. I had about 80 guests and it felt like any more than that would have been too crowded. We so are glad we chose the flower farm!!”

“We don’t even have the right words to express our gratitude. From start to finish, they were absolutely amazing—so kind, flexible, and helpful every step of the way. We’re still receiving endless compliments about the venue and the food; everyone was blown away by how beautiful everything looked and how seamlessly it all came together. Even with the rain and the last-minute move indoors, it truly didn’t feel like a Plan B. Our guests kept saying it felt like it was always meant to be that way. The space was stunning, the atmosphere was perfect, and that’s all thanks to the incredible team at Of the Land. Their flexibility made the day so easy and special for us. We couldn’t be more thankful for the care and attention they gave to every detail.”

“PFW is one of our favorite venues to provide services for. The loading area is level and goes right into the kitchen. They have 2 refridgerators and 2 ice machines available at no cost to vendors which provides a lower quote cost to the clients. Accessability is usually noon the day of the event in most cases. Parking is close and plentiful. They have plenty of Audio Visual options for your event. The only cons are some alcohol restrictions (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), and if you have to adjust any event times last minute.”

What really stood out was the incredible attention to detail. Tiffany and her team anticipated every need and ensured that our timeline ran perfectly, allowing us to simply enjoy our day without a single worry. They calmed our nerves along with having the answers to any question that arose! Tiffany herself made sure that after our ceremony we had a beverage while we finished up pictures! She made us feel so well taken care of, even during the busiest parts of the day. Our guests were equally impressed, and we have received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how well everything was organized. Everyone took personal pictures around the venue—it’s stunning wherever you look! Having both an indoor and outdoor space that was comfortable while able to combat July heat was amazing! I can’t forget that they also have an entire section of their barn with decor that can be used for your wedding!! We are so grateful to the staff for their professionalism and for making our wedding day truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!”

Cold Springs Resort
Hamilton, IN
  • Up to 350 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $2,500

Hamilton Lake's Cold Springs evolved from a 1870 farm purchase by Simpson Watkins. By 1885, Watkins Grove hosted picnics, leading to a hotel (1898), dance hall, and early 1900s recreation. Cold Springs Cottage Park, platted in 1896, grew significantly, with a unique leasing system. Sundays featured bands and speakers. Visitors arrived by train. A larger hotel opened in 1914, and the dance hall became a central draw with live music. A beach area developed later. The hotel prospered through the 20th century, adding a bar and modernizing. An 18-hole golf course was built. Dancing remained popular with big bands, later transitioning to rock. Today, Cold Springs offers a hotel, dining, bar, beach, golf, cottages, and retro dances, still family-run after five generations.
