“As soon as we arrived, we were so glad that we had chosen Milton Ridge and knew that we had made the right choice. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They were with us through every step of our wedding day with lots of support and smiles. The cottage for getting ready is very cute, the chapel is beautiful, and the reception hall is great as well. They have many services included in their various wedding packages like catering, DJ, photographer, and cake. They also have outside vendors that they work with frequently, such as hair and make-up and a florist, who are all wonderful. They are inclusive, and they are supportive of LGBT weddings. My now wife and I are part of the LGBT community, and we were treated very well by the entire team. We were able to have our wedding exactly how we wanted, and they worked with us on every detail. On the day, they had the entire day scheduled and kept us on track, which is actually so necessary and helpful on a day when you're trying to do so many things. “I found this place before even getting engaged. I always knew our wedding would to be local so this was kind of a no brainer. Once we visited, we fell in love with the barn! The esthetic and vibe was perfect, and you don't want to take from that so very little decor was needed as I really wanted to highlight the beauty of the venue. Lauren and Kara were WONDERFUL! I could not have asked for a better team to take care of us for our wedding day. From ensuring that I wasn't stressed, and that everything I needed was taken care of was perfect. They have a curated listed for vendors so if you aren't sure where to start highly recommend looking through their list. I also had family coming from out of town, so there was a AirBnB that they host so my whole family was also able to stay at a gorgeous home close by instead of a hotel. Everyone enjoyed how close it was to the venue and really loved being able to spend more time together. I can easily say, Lauren and Kara are a team to beat! They know all the answers to your questions, and if they don't they will figure it out for you. They really made our big day feel like one of the best, and somehow everything went perfectly thanks to them! I will forever be thankful for their help and for being such a big part of our day.”

Monroe Bay Vineyard is located on the water near Colonial Beach on the original birthplace Farm of our 5th President James Monroe. We have a large, unique barn made of natural, recycled materials of strawbales for insulation and recycled wine bottles for light and design. You no longer see the strawbales in the wall as they have been covered with a hydraulic lime the same material castles in France for hundreds of years have been made from.
