In 1952, Larry and Vera Gaudio, our grandparents and the founders of LaVera Party Center, launched a catering business that quickly became known for its homemade Italian cuisine. They were committed to using only the finest ingredients, crafting every dish with care. Sterk's Catering began over 40 years ago in the home kitchen, and has expanded to its present location in Oberlin, Ohio. Sterk's has been a family owned and operated business for three generations. Five generations of recipes are used in the preparation of our food which creates an American blend of delicious food. We have German, English, Polish, Slovenian and Pennsylvania Dutch lineage and it reflects in our delicious cuisine.

What started years ago with roasting pigs for family gatherings and special occasions has now grown into Word of Mouth BBQ, a family owned and operated BBQ and catering company serving Northeast Ohio. Today, you can find our trailers at festivals and events across Ohio, serving customer favorites like our famous “Big Fat Pulled Pork Sandwich”, loaded baked potatoes, fall-off-the-bone ribs, brisket, and other delicious creations.
