I started my music education at 8 years old, starting with private piano lessons that spanned 12 years.. leading to a BA in Vocal Performance from Wayne State University, and study abroad in Rome, Italy. I’ve performed as a Soprano soloist/section leader for numerous churches throughout Metro Detroit, and have had the honor of singing with many great bands. I joined Trilogy Band 10 years ago, and truly fell in love with being a part of couples’ special days. There’s nothing like seeing their faces full of joy, and the energy of a packed dance floor! I began my musical journey when I was 12 years old as a singer and drummer. Over ten years ago, I built a home recording studio and named it CC King Studio. Shortly after, I DJ’d my first wedding and CC King Entertainment was born! After DJing hundreds of weddings, my business allowed me to leave my 16-year career as an occupational therapist. I ALWAYS go the extra mile to personalize my wedding services. I also have the distinct honor to work with an amazing team of Michigan wedding DJs!

About Roostertail Established in 1958, Roostertail is a well-known wedding venue in Detroit, Michigan. Bordering the Detroit River marina, its various banquet halls boast a tasteful blend of modern and industrial styles. Panoramic glass walls adorn every floor of the building, with private entrances leading to patios and balconies. Here you can celebrate your nuptials in the same venue that hosted special guests like Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, and The Rolling Stones. Facilities and Capacity Roostertail has direct marina access with awe-inspiring views that set the stage for its two outdoor ceremony spaces, the deck, and the side patio. I started photographing weddings in 2003 and eventually left my day job as a designer to do photography full-time, but I’ve never been able to turn the designer off. In addition to photos, I create a few animated gifs from every session. My style is influenced by design principles, architecture, Edward Hopper paintings, plus films by Stanley Kubrick & Denis Villeneuve. While composing I put as much attention into the scene as the subjects. I prefer to cover events solo and do my own editing, posting teasers the next day. I’m based in the Detroit area but cover weddings all over America.

I’m addicted to capturing who you are and your tale as it unfolds (the photojournalistic approach gives me life). Being diagnosed with Lupus at 16, I had to give up my ultimate goal of being a pilot in the Air Force.
