Melissa Albano has been creating cakes for the last 30 years. It started with her watching her grandmother and being so intrigued she eventually started teaching herself the art of cake. She started out by making family cakes, eventually sharing them on social media. Within months a family business turned into a full time business. Cakes by Melissa has created artisinal cakes for the last 15 years. From H.S prom cupcakes, to a shed made for Tanglewood, to large corporate orders, to the most intricately designed wedding cake. It has been her passion for years, and shows in each and every cake or dessert she makes.

I'm a former costume designer and fashion historian with a PhD in English literature, now using my love of art, craft, and design to create one-of-a-kind custom wedding cakes! I make delicious, colorful cakes in traditional and modern flavor combinations, topped with handcrafted sugar flowers. I use only the highest-quality ingredients and always emphasize both design and taste. I would love to work with you to make your cake one of the most memorable and beautiful parts of your wedding!

Hi! I'm Sydney, owner and founder of Simply Sweet. I was born and raised in the Berkshires. For me, my love for all things sweet started in the kitchen with my grandmother, making Italian cookies as a young girl. Those little cookies lit a spark inside me- and I have been baking ever since. ​ I enjoy creating treats of all kinds and experimenting with new flavors, concepts and designs.
