The Capen House at the Albin Polasek Museum

4.5

Winter Park, FL
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,750

The restored home marries Victorian and Tudor Revival luxury with the natural beauty of the museum’s sculpture gardens and lakefront views. The mingling of the home’s original heart pine floors and grand staircase with the graceful sculptures by Albin Polasek evoke a vintage elegance, promising an exceptional experience for all who enter.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Lush gardens
  • Provides event staff
  • Dressing room available

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Limited cleanup and setup services
I feel very fortunate that we were able to celebrate our wedding at such a beautiful venue. The setting was truly stunning, and leading up to the big day, the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. They made the planning process smooth and stress-free, which I really appreciated. Additionally, the list of recommended vendors they provided was absolutely fantastic. I have to give special thanks to Four Rivers Barbecue, Cocktails Catering, and Kaleidoscope Lighting, all of whom made the actual event so easy and seamless. Their services truly elevated our day and helped everything run smoothly. However, my experience on the actual wedding day was unfortunately not as positive. From the moment my bridesmaids and I arrived, the venue attendants were unwelcoming and made us feel as though we were an inconvenience. There was no greeting, no introductions, and no effort to make us feel comfortable, which was especially upsetting on what was supposed to be one of the happiest and most important days of my life. Additionally, there were issues with museum guests still being present less than an hour before our event began, and we had to ask multiple times for them to leave. This should have been handled by the staff, as it added unnecessary stress to the already hectic pre-wedding preparations. At the end of the night, the venue attendants started telling our guests that they needed to leave in 20 minutes, which was perfectly reasonable. However, they failed to inform me, my bridal party, or the groom about this timing, which created confusion and made the event's conclusion feel rushed. While I didn’t use a coordinator because I felt confident in my planning abilities, I would have appreciated receiving the same time warning that was given to a few of my guests. It would have helped us to better manage the end of the event. To make matters worse, as we were breaking down, the attendants were rude to both myself and my guests, which was extremely disappointing. There is definitely a way to be firm yet kind, but that wasn’t the approach we received. Overall, while the venue itself was beautiful and all of the staff were great leading up to the day, the attitude and behavior of the venue attendants on the wedding day really left a negative impression. I hope they can address these issues for future couples, as it detracted from what should have been a perfect day.

1010 West

5.0

Orlando, FL
  • Up to 250 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $3,000

Today, nestled behind this early 1900's storefront, (we left the outside just the way we found it), you'll find Orlando's most unique event space imaginable. Some are calling it "The Hidden Hanger" and others, "The Speakeasy". We just call it 1010 WEST. Step through the old metal gates and you'll discover the rustic and industrial, yet warm environment of a space revitalized from a turn of the century airplane hangar. Speakeasies may no longer be illegal, but their hard-to-find entrances gives a sense of exhilaration when walking down a dimly lit alleyway and passing through nondescript gates into a subterranean world of tinkling glasses and spirited history of our hidden hangar.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Space for a large guest list
  • Combines timeless elegance with history
  • Designed for grand celebrations

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues
  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
1010 West was the perfect venue for our wedding day. The staff was incredibly polite, helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. They took care of all the setup, breakdown and cleanup, allowing us to fully enjoy our special day. The venue itself has such a unique character and historic charm - it provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. The team expertly handled the timeline and floor plan, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The staff was so caring and kind, making our guests feel right at home in this beautiful space. We're so grateful to 1010 West for helping make our wedding day truly unforgettable.

Historic Venue 1902 was truly the venue of our dreams! It was the perfect combination of elegance, history, and classic charm. We’re still reliving that day over and over—it went even better than we could have imagined. Their planning platform made the process so easy. Honestly, their team felt like having a built-in wedding planner! The staff handled everything with such professionalism and care—from the design phase to coordinating vendor logistics on the day of the wedding. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. The space itself was stunning. The guys loved hanging out in the Library, and the girls had an amazing time in the beautiful getting ready room. Everything was well thought out and so accommodating. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the venue and the flow of the day. We can’t recommend Historic Venue 1902 enough. As proprietors of Maria's Arrangements, a budding flower shop dedicated to crafting beauty and elegance through floral design, we had the immense pleasure of attending the grand opening of Pegasus Manor, a truly remarkable wedding venue that we wholeheartedly recommend to all the beautiful couples planning their engagement celebrations. From the moment we stepped foot into Pegasus Manor, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of magic and enchantment. The grand opening was an experience beyond compare, with an impressive array of vendors showcasing their talents and services. What truly set this event apart, however, was the warmth and hospitality extended by Ms. Beth, the consummate hostess of Pegasus Manor. Ms. Beth's genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel not only welcomed but truly valued as guests. Throughout the event, she ensured that everyone in attendance was enjoying themselves and had everything they needed to make the most of the festivities. With 1,350 miles of coastline, historic estates and tropical gardens at your fingertips, the Sunshine State transforms your ceremony from an intimate gathering into a truly grand celebration.

Why Consider Florida for Your Wedding?

Florida's diverse landscapes create exceptional backdrops for your special day. Paradise Cove in Orlando offers waterfront settings with lush gardens and even provides a private boat shuttle for you and your guests, accommodating up to 300 people. Bakers Ranch near Tampa delivers all-inclusive packages with touches of Southern elegance that make planning easier. Most couples start their venue search about 13 months before their wedding date, with November being the busiest month for inquiries.

How Much Do Florida Wedding Venues Cost?

Your wedding budget in Florida typically scales with guest count:

  • 50 guests: $19,395
  • 100 guests: $32,141
  • 150 guests: $44,126
  • 200 guests: $54,841
  • 250 guests: $65,555
  • 300 guests: $76,270

You'll find the average venue costs around $7,110 which represents 16% of your total wedding budget. This typically ranges from $6,400 to $7,800 - actually coming in below the national benchmark of $6,500-$12,000 where venues usually eat up 25% of total costs.

Where Are Florida's Most Accessible Wedding Venues?

Paradise Cove gives you wheelchair-friendly spaces throughout the entire property. If oceanfront views matter to you, Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront provides accessible spaces with beautiful beachside ceremony options and covered reception areas that accommodate groups from 10 to 250 guests. Bakers Ranch can host your celebration whether you're planning for 50 or 200 guests and comes with comprehensive amenities.

Which Florida Venues Offer Exceptional Remote Experiences?

Little Palm Island Resort in the Florida Keys creates unique virtual experiences with live chats and message boards so your remote guests feel included. Hawks Cay Resort in Marathon offers virtual tours and interactive messaging platforms that bring everyone together. SunQuest Cruises in Miramar Beach gives you 360-degree video capabilities for truly immersive experiences while Bakers Ranch incorporates virtual reality letting remote attendees "walk through" the venue just like they were there.

What Culinary Experiences Stand Out at Florida Wedding Venues?

The Reef Restaurant in St. Augustine features beachfront seafood options while Chops Lobster Bar in Boca Raton delivers exceptional steakhouse service for your reception.

How Should You Plan Around Florida's Weather?

Florida's climate means you need to consider hurricane season running from June through November. Look for venues with covered outdoor areas that maintain aesthetic appeal during sudden rain showers. Properties with climate-controlled indoor spaces offer seamless transitions when weather changes unexpectedly so your celebration continues without interruption.

From South Florida's luxurious settings to Central Florida's natural beauty and the Keys' intimate waterfront venues Florida transforms your wedding dreams into lifelong memories. You'll find diverse options for every vision and budget making it easier to create the perfect celebration that truly represents you as a couple.
