The Estate On The Halifax

The Chapel has hosted hundreds of weddings throughout its lifetime. The stained glass windows and curved pews are the perfect setting for guests to witness your vows. Built originally in 1897 as the first town hall of Port Orange, in 1913, the building was moved and served as the Parish Hall for Grace Episcopal Church. When the church expanded in 1997, the Chapel was relocated to it’s current location here at the Estate on the Halifax.

Our Wedding Gazebo set along the lake with a fountain backdrop is a stunning location for your outdoor ceremony. Endless options exist for incorporating your theme or color palette into your outdoor Gazebo ceremony. Drapery is commonly seen, as well as flowers and even the occasional chandelier. The more than century old oak trees located throughout the property provide abundant shade as well as gorgeous photography backdrops.

What better place to keep the gentlemen entertained on wedding day, than in the fully restored 1946 Tavern Lounge Car complete with wet bar, leather recliners, a jukebox and piano. Originally named Belle Meade when it was built by the ACF Company in 1946, this car’s interior was updated and it was renamed University Club in 1952, it continued service as such until 1971. At 85 feet long, it makes quite the statement. While the train car is most commonly used for our gentlemen’s hangout on wedding day, where they can relax and get ready. The train car can also be rented for cocktail parties or corporate functions for up to 30 people.

Set amidst the main garden area of giant koi ponds and the water wheel is Snow White’s Cottage, a fantastic setting for Cocktail Hour between ceremony and reception. This beautiful little cottage and the koi ponds were hand built in the 1930’s by an engineer who owned the property. The cottage was boarded up in the 1950’s and the ponds were filled in as garden planters. When they were uncovered in the 1990’s the cottage reminded everyone of the classic Snow White tale.

Who wouldn’t want to have a two-story historic riverfront home to get ready in with your bridal party on wedding day, then after your wedding spend your honeymoon night as newlyweds. Luxurious amenities include the full kitchen, large downstairs gathering area, wet bar, flat screen TV, and indoor pool and spa to make wedding day and night spectacular. This charming riverfront residence is a two-story home with three bedrooms and four bathrooms, plenty of space for newlyweds to enjoy honeymoon night or for up to six guests total to stay the night.

Dine and Dance the night away in the Tavern our indoor reception facility at the Estate on the Halifax. Opened in 2002, the Tavern hosts wedding receptions, parties, banquets and more. It also has up to a 200 person capacity to help accommodate venues of all sizes. The Tavern was built in the 1920’s, as a residential home, situated along US Highway 1. For many years, it served as an antique store.
