I've picked up a camera just about every day since I fell in love with photography in 2013. Though every shoot holds something unique, it takes a lot to catch me off guard after nearly a decade in business. I pride myself on my ability to quickly connect with my clients, making them feel comfortable, cared for, and confident that they look great. Not every event I’m at goes exactly according to plan and I know how to roll with the punches. Being a helpful and calming presence in the midst of your wedding is second nature to me. Basically, I try to treat people how I want to be treated: with fairness and understanding!

INCLUSIVE: I love getting to experience a huge variety of unique cultures up close. On the technical side, I am proud of my ability to capture the radiance of Black skin tones and help interracial couples look their best together. As an LGBTQIA+ ally, I love love! EMPATHIC: To get those shots where a person's feelings are written across their face requires a real connection. ENGAGING: I have a genuine interest in people! Building friends as I go helps me become part of the event. COLLABORATIVE: I've got my go-tos, but I'm ready to hear your ideas! We can create something together we never could have without each other.

    If I could give a million stars I would! I can go on forever about what a gem Zach & Maria are, I have never met two people that just have such beautiful and positive energy! From our first phone call Zach, my husband and I just hit it off! It felt like we were chatting with a friend! He never felt like a “vendor” to me, it felt like just a cool pal with a camera hanging around with us capturing our special day! Zach is such a professional but he makes you feel so comfortable and goes with the flow! Maria was quick to capture small intimate moments between my husband and I and added so much character to our day, I can not thank them enough for being part of our long special day, if you value artistry, genuine connection and professionalism Zach & Maria are the way to go! You will not regret booking with them! I look forward to booking Zach for anything and everything I want captured, from anniversaries to birthdays & many milestones to come!

    I found Zach here on Zola after a long search for a photographer that matched my style. Not only was he flexible with the timing of the wedding but such a fun guy to have around. He made my partner and I feel comfortable instantly and truly made the whole experience a breeze. I have only seen a few sample photos from the wedding so far and he has already deserved a raving review.

    There are a lot of great photographers to choose from in Chicago and Zach is one of them. But I don’t need to tell you that, because you’ve probably checked out his work or you’re about to. What I will tell you is that Zach is exactly the kind of guy you want to have as one of your vendors. He is professional and experienced, but most importantly of all, flexible and so so nice. I didn’t actually meet Zach until the day of the wedding at our first look photoshoot. Although he seemed nice over email and I was reassured by my friend who recommended him, I was nervous about me and my partner feeling awkward and it showing in our pictures. But Zach put us at ease right away and was helpful in suggesting poses for each shot, something my partner and I definitely appreciated! Zach knew the Garfield Park Conservatory like the back of his hand, which also helped us navigate through the maze-like place within our short allotted time. Fast forward to post-ceremony - time for family portraits. The space we had in mind for the family group shots was a no-go due to some logistical issues. Zach was quick to roll with the punches before I could even think of a solution. He quickly talked to our venue manager and helped move our family members to a different area before my partner and I could even worry about what to do. During the reception, Zach moved discreetly from one end of the venue to the other, capturing all the special moments of the night. While there were other vendors that caught my attention throughout the night due to issues, Zach operated independently and flawlessly. To put a cherry on top, Zach’s pricing is very affordable compared to other photographers’ standard rates AND promises to get pictures back to you in a freaky fast timeline (I forget the exact time but it was incredibly fast). I wholeheartedly recommend Zach to any couple looking for a professional photographer who will not only get you great pictures but help you feel relaxed and therefore look your best on their special day!

    Drew and I had the opportunity to work with Zach for our engagement photos and our wedding--I cannot recommend him enough! You will NOT be disappointed. If you have the opportunity to hire this talented professional I would highly recommend it. Zach was so fun to work with and immediately put us both at ease on our big day. He was able to provide insightful suggestions to make sure the day was as stress-free as possible. Whether he was photographing us as we got ready or rallying our big families into a a single shot after the ceremony, Zach worked seamlessly. He's professional and funny and knows how to get the shots he needs. He makes the whole operation look effortless. Only 4 DAYS AFTER the wedding, we received all our photos edited and ready to share! We were so happy with the results and could not believe the level of quality and quick turnaround time. 12 out of 10 stars for Zach!
