How do Venmo contributions work?

How do Venmo contributions work?

If a couple chooses to enable Venmo contributions on their cash fund, they'll be asked to provide their Venmo username. Zola will display their Venmo username to guests so they can find the couple on Venmo and send any amount they’d like up to the Venmo payment limits. We then ask guests to return to Zola to note the amount contributed—this allows us to update the cash fund to reflect the latest total.

Are there really zero fees?

If your guests send a Venmo contribution using their Venmo balance, debit card, or bank, the payment isn’t subject to the standard credit card processing fee that accompanies contributions made via credit card. Learn more about Venmo fees here.

How do contributions via Venmo differ from those via credit card?

Contributions via credit card have a standard credit card processing fee. A couple’s cash fund will update automatically once their guest sends a credit card contribution. Contributions via Venmo using bank, Venmo balance, or debit card do not have any accompanying fees for the sender, but guests must return to Zola after contributing to note how much they sent. Only then can we update the cash fund to reflect the latest total.

Anything else I should know?

Zola is pleased to offer guests the option to make a gift using Venmo, but Zola is not affiliated with Venmo. Use of Venmo is subject to Venmo’s user agreement and all applicable other terms and conditions or policies of Venmo.
