Ruach Collective

Hi, I'm DJ Olson, the heart behind Ruach Collective. "Ruach," the Hebrew word for breath and spirit, is at the core of everything I create. For 5 years, I've been telling love stories through cinematic, documentary-style photo and video, capturing the real, unscripted moments that make your day uniquely yours. Faith drives my work, and I'd be honored to serve you on one of the most important days of your life.

What makes Ruach Collective different is the blend of cinematic beauty and honest storytelling. I don't direct your emotions, I follow them. Rooted in faith and shaped by years of work in weddings and the church community, I bring a genuine, spirit-led presence to every shoot. You won't get cookie-cutter highlight reels; you'll get a film that actually feels like your day.

This is the very base of capturing your day! I will make sure to caputure all the big moments as well as the little things you may not think of. If they get used for an edit, awesome. If not, then you at least have the footage. With the footage you also get a small highlight that shows the day in a beautiful way.

    You will not regret it!!

    DJ was absolutely incredible, and we couldn't be happier that we had him capture our wedding day. From the moment we met him, he was so kind, patient, and easy to work with. He gave us direction without ever making us feel awkward or uncomfortable. We are definitely the type of people who never know what to do in front of a camera, but DJ made everything feel less scary. When we got our film back, we were completely blown away. It turned out even better than we ever could have imagined!! He captured not only all of the big moments, but also little moments that we didn't even realize he was filming. His editing and aesthetic matched our photographers vibe and fit perfectly with the look and feel we were going for. Watching it took us right back to our wedding, and it's something we'll cherish forever. For the longest time, we truly felt that we would not have regretted not getting a wedding video, but now we can't imagine our day without it!! The day goes by faster than you expect and I barely even remember being there. Seeing that video made me so thankful. If you're on the fence about hiring a videographer, do it! And if you're looking for one, I can't recommend DJ enough. He's incredibly talented, genuinely cares about his work, and gave us a keepsake that we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. If we could do our day over, DJ would still be there!!

    Stunning creative process and final product

    Working with Ruach Collective was one of the best decisions we made.
