About this venue
Welcome to Under the Mountain. We’re a working farm and vineyard since the 1870’s, tucked at the base of the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. This slice of living history is rare in the Bay Area now, and we’d like to share it with you. Our quintessential-California Barn was built in the 1880’s from enormous redwood beams and makes for a stunning backdrop to any ceremony. Our Vines are nearly 110 years old, the source for select wines from the state’s premier winemakers. Our Arbor and Orchard make the perfect pastoral setting for chatting with your chosen guests, eating drinking, and, of course, dancing. No layout is set in stone – we provide the vineyard space, the mountain views, and that California spirit – and you make it your creative playground to build your personal and unforgettable wedding.

The Arbor: where twinkling lights, vineyard views, and joyful celebrations come together.
The farm’s heart: huge 140-year-old vines grown on an eight-foot-tall arbor. Leaves rustle in the breeze above your head and their branches climb and sway with effortless elegance. This is what cocktail hour was made for. Designed to match is the young orchard. Hemmed by a charming white fence and lively garden flowers, this space easily fits up to 200 guests. Dinner, toasts, and dancing as the sun sets behind the redwood-topped mountains – it doesn’t get much better.

Beautiful place!
Weddings Under the Mountain provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. From our first interaction, the staff was kind, thoughtful, and even had a great sense of humor that put us at ease throughout the planning process. The beautiful space with its amazing mountain views and charming barn was everything we could have hoped for. On the day of the wedding, everything was absolutely perfect - the grape vines provided a gorgeous natural setting, and the attentive staff ensured that every detail was attended to. We are so grateful to Weddings Under the Mountain for helping to make our wedding day truly unforgettable.
Beautiful wedding
Under the Mountain was a great venue. the space was vast, rustic, and very peaceful. There were many different locations on the property for ceremony and reception. They had ample space for parking for wedding guests. The owners were easy to communicate with and prompt and timely. They live on site and therefore could be very available. The venue had beautiful views of both trees and forest as well as beautiful vineyard vistas.

The property itself is stunning—home to old vine wine grapes that are over 100 years old, majestic oak trees, and countless natural backdrops that make for incredible photo opportunities. Throughout the day and into the evening, you’re surrounded by songbirds, wildlife, and a calm, natural beauty that feels both rustic and elegant at the same time. As a guest, the experience was intimate, peaceful, and effortlessly beautiful. The evening climate was ideal, and the setting encouraged people to relax, connect, and truly enjoy the moment. Everything about the venue felt intentional and grounded in nature without sacrificing comfort. Beautiful venue
My husband and I were married here - we cannot recommend this venue highly enough! The setting is absolutely beautiful; the vineyard property is tucked under the Santa Cruz Mountains, surrounded by vines and oak trees. We were so glad we chose to get married here - and we got compliments from wedding guests for months after!
