About this venue

We are a romantic and classic wedding venue located in Shepherd, Michigan, just minutes from Central Michigan University. Our reception space can accommodate up to 375 guests and features a beautiful floor-to-ceiling fireplace, fairy lights, floral chandeliers, a custom bar, farmhouse tables, banquet tables, and black Chiavari chairs with leather cushions. We also offer a prep kitchen, two parking lots, and a beautifully landscaped backyard area with a privacy fence, two patios, and a pergola. One of our favorite features is that we have two private getting-ready spaces: The Ivory Suite and The Sable Room. Each suite includes a lounge, private bathroom, and changing room, giving both sides of the wedding party their own comfortable space to relax and get ready. We are also currently adding an indoor ceremony space, which will allow couples to host both their ceremony and reception at The Wright Place. This space is expected to be complete by the end of summer, August 2026.

The space features a beautiful floor-to-ceiling fireplace, fairy lights, floral chandeliers, a custom bar, and a prep kitchen. Guests can also enjoy access to our beautifully landscaped backyard, complete with a privacy fence, two patios, and a pergola, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor feel throughout your event. With farmhouse tables, banquet tables, and Chiavari chairs with leather cushions included, the space offers an elevated foundation for couples to bring their wedding vision to life.

"The Cappella" Ceremony Space

A timeless setting for the moment that starts forever.

Our indoor ceremony space is being thoughtfully designed to give couples a beautiful, romantic setting to say, “I do." Expected to be complete by August 2026, this space will allow couples to host both their ceremony and reception on-site for a seamless wedding day experience. With a timeless, classic feel and an intimate atmosphere, the ceremony space will create a meaningful backdrop for your vows while giving guests the comfort and convenience of celebrating the entire day in one location.

The Ivory Suite

A light and airy getting-ready suite designed for comfort, beauty, and calm before the celebration.

The Ivory Suite is a private, getting-ready space designed to bring comfort, beauty, and ease to the morning of your celebration. With ivory walls, light wood flooring, a lounge area with seating, salon chairs, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and a styling station. The room also has an adjoining changing room and private bathroom. The suite also includes a private entrance with secure door code access, allowing your group to safely store personal belongings throughout the day.

The Sable Room is a private getting-ready suite with a lounge-inspired feel. The room features a statement accent wall, antler chandeliers, antler sconces, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels distinct from The Ivory Suite. This suite includes a private entrance with secure door code access, allowing your group to store personal belongings safely throughout the day. The Sable Room also features a changing room with a hanging bar, a private bathroom, and access to an outdoor patio.

    Mother of Bride

    The Wright Place made planning our wedding so easy with their fast and helpful communication every step of the way. They provided us with the entire weekend to set up and celebrate, which meant we didn't feel rushed and could really soak in every moment of our special day. We loved having two separate bridal suites so our bride and groom each had their own space to get ready before the ceremony. The venue itself is stunning with beautiful, timeless classic greenery throughout that made everything feel elegant without being over the top. The team went above and beyond to help us pull off the day we dreamed about, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely recommend The Wright Place to any couple looking for an amazing venue.

All packages include exclusive access to our Ceremony Space (The Capella), VIP suites (The Ivory Suite and The Sable Room), and our 6,000 sq. ft. reception space and its prep kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and outdoor patios. It also includes free on-site parking, chair & table set-up and take down, wooden farmhouse tables, banquet tables, black Chiavari chairs with leather cushion, cleaning and trash disposal.
Our wedding packages include a 3-day full weekend rental (Friday-Sunday.) This package allows you to fully customize how you use your weekend. Many couples use Friday for setup and rehearsal, Saturday for the ceremony and reception, and Sunday for décor pickup and/or a farewell brunch. Access begins at 8am on Friday and ends on 2pm on Sunday.
