About this venue

Nestled off the back roads in a secluded Brown County valley sits the perfect venue to celebrate your special day or event. Built in the late 1800’s, The Old Barn at Brown County has been restored with new flooring, romantic chandelier lighting and convenient onsite restrooms, all while maintaining its original rustic-charm. The barn provides 3,800 square feet of multi-functional space, beautiful views and privacy. The classic and simple lines of the barn allow you to create and design your own unique event no matter what your style. In addition to the barn, the Big Easy Log Cabin is also located on the property. The newly renovated 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath cabin is the perfect size for you and your overnight accommodations. The 1880’s hand-hewed log cabin includes a wonderful wrap-around porch, sufficient get ready space, and a game room for you and your guests to enjoy. An additional 4 bedroom cabin up the hill (Over Easy) is available to rent as well.

We got married October 14 at the barn. We chose this barn because it was 15 minutes down the road from our house and we have a handful of kids. When we originally booked this venue, it was original owners and we absolutely love them. Then come December and they told us that they were bought out right then and there they should’ve gave us the option if we wanted to continue wedding at the venue or not which they didn’t and I probably wouldn’t change my mind due to how beautiful it was. For the first year we were supposed to have visits at the barn which we did up until we didn’t. When we started trying to find food, we went to first class catering while we were there after speaking to them, they told us that the old barn was one of their venues after trying three separate types of food them. We decided to go a different route. They have first class events helping them first off let me say every time we meet with someone (which I had to inforce the meeting because they never reached back out to me) it was a different person who couldn’t answer any of your questions. Not only that when I asked if there manager was coming they said she lived in Boston. First that’s a very big inconvenience and weird to be managing properties your not at. Then, when items came up missing and I reached out to their manager team like she really just didn’t care, and she just offered a check. Regardless of how beautiful this venue is, they are very unprofessional they don’t refill the propane tanks they didn’t tell us that we had to either they left everything in there from the previous behind. I had to wait for them to come and get it out the next morning. It was just one incident after the next if they lost first class catering, and they became their own event company I think they would be way better off such an transactional experience. We really truly did love the original owners and they were so pleasant and they were whom made us want to marry there. These new owners just dropped the ball.
