About this venue

The Cypress House is a Federal-style home constructed in 1835. Our property resides on 24 acres, along the bank of the Susquehanna River. In 1987, our family dedicated their hearts and hands to restoring the property to it's original glory. The estate features a stone barn dating back to 1817 and meticulously kept colonial gardens bursting with boxwood, magnolias, and garden roses. We are family owned and operated. When you choose to get married here, your wedding day is cared for and celebrated like you’re a part of our family. We specialize in outdoor, garden-side weddings, stunning candle lit receptions in our wood-grain pole tent, and the most talented in-house Floral and Design team. When you book with The Cypress House, you will also get to work with on of our Cypress Coordinators to ensure your planning process and wedding day are flawlessly executed.

The Pool Terrace

An unforgettable, open-air cocktail hour...

For Cocktail Hour, we recommend our Pool Terrace, complete with fountains which make a dreamy spot to celebrate. The area is adorned with romantic string lighting, beautiful garden urns, and surrounded by a custom colonial style fence. We offer a custom cocktail bar for your use, high top cocktail tables, conversation seating, and unique patio umbrellas for your guests.

The Reception Tent

An elevated tented reception...

Most receptions are held in our 40'x100' wood-grain pole tent, adorned with tent peak flags and romantic string lights, turf throughout, and a 20x20 travertine tile dancefloor. There is a custom built 8-foot bar included, along with fruitwood crossback chairs and all of your tables. Our Floral and Design team will help you to completely customize this space from your layout and linen choices, to table and hanging floral arrangements options.

    The team at The Cypress House was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. From our very first interaction, their communication was quick, friendly, and thoroughly creative in helping us bring our vision to life. The venue itself was beautifully designed with a clean, classic, and upscale yet homey-feeling aesthetic that exceeded our expectations. The wedding coordinator was available anytime we needed her and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect. The kindest, most devoted, and coolest girls you'll ever meet, the entire Cypress House team completely understood our vision and made it a reality. We're so grateful for their incredible service and highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding.

    We had our wedding here and I’m not sure if I can put into words how beautiful this venue is! I fell in love with pictures before even seeing it. The ceremony garden is very unique and the cocktail hour space by the pool is absolutely stunning. Everything about this place, including the reception tent and its artificial turf, is perfect. There was plenty of space in the house for the bridal party to get their hair and makeup done and I liked that the guys had a separate building so they didn’t see us getting ready. Our coordinator, Caitlyn, was great to work with and was a tremendous help, especially on the wedding day. She did almost everything so we could enjoy the day! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I can’t imagine getting married anywhere else! We worked with Cypress Floral for our flowers. I don’t know a lot about flowers and color choices so I was appreciative of her help and recommendations. She gave several options to choose from and made adjustments multiple times to make sure everything was perfect. When I walked into the reception tent it brought me to tears seeing how beautiful everything was! Our bouquets, the hanging greenery, and floral arrangements for all the tables were stunning! I wish I could have taken every single arrangement home and I will never be able to thank Chelsea enough for how beautiful and perfect everything turned out! We also worked with Cypress Design to create most of our wedding signs and couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out! Alexa gave recommendations on colors and designs, which was really helpful, and all of our signs and décor were high quality and far exceeded our expectations! Not having to create my own signs and using her rentals took a lot of work and stress off of me during the planning process. I cannot thank the Cypress team enough for how perfect our wedding day was!!

    I held my wedding at the Cypress House on May 27th and I cannot use a better word to describe the day than "perfect". The Cypress House is a truly exceptional venue and it is even more gorgeous than the photos. We hosted our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at the venue. I cannot tell how many times throughout our wedding day my husband and I were asked "how did you find this place?!" Not only is the venue stunning but the staff is nothing short of exceptional. The three sisters who run this venue take tremendous pride in this place and it shows. They were all easy to work with and were so accommodating of my busy schedule while planning my wedding. Courtney made coordinating all aspects of the venue easy and provided an excellent list of vendors which were AMAZING. Alexa added the most gorgeous designs and rentals that enhanced our day and made it feel like us. Chelsea provided some of the most stunning florals ever and transformed our ceremony flowers into a gorgeous sweetheart table. The staff that helped us on the day was also amazing and we laughed at many points because they are so organized and on top of things we felt like we had the secret service keeping our wedding day running smoothly! Finally our day of coordinator Chloe was so easy to work with and immediately felt like a friend helping us make the day run perfectly. I would book the Cypress House 1000 times over and I am so happy that I chose to have my wedding at this venue. I cannot thank the Cypress House and their team enough for the amazing day they provided us.
