Nestled on 68 acres in Catawba, Virginia, Spring Tavern Farm is a family-owned wedding venue where beautiful scenery and a relaxed, personal experience come together. Our timber-frame barn overlooks a peaceful pond and waterfall, with our beloved willow tree, mountain views and open fields creating a beautiful setting for celebrations of up to 150 guests. We offer exclusive weekend rentals, giving couples time to settle in, enjoy the farm, celebrate with family and friends, and truly enjoy their wedding weekend without feeling rushed. From the ceremony and reception to getting ready in Willow Tree Cottage, we’re here to help with the details behind the scenes while giving you the freedom to make the day your own. The Sunset Pond Ceremony Lawn

This picturesque outdoor ceremony site offers a serene, natural setting for your exchange of vows. A charming gravel aisle leads to an elegant white pergola, perfectly situated beside a tranquil pond. Surrounded by rolling hills, vibrant greenery, and historic farm architecture, the manicured lawn provides a romantic, open-air atmosphere. As the sun begins to set over the countryside, the reflecting water and expansive skies create an unforgettable, breathtaking backdrop for your "I dos."

The Historic Brick-Floor Barn

Authentic rustic charm with soaring ceilings.

This stunningly restored indoor event space masterfully blends authentic rustic charm with timeless elegance. The barn features magnificent exposed wooden beams, soaring vaulted ceilings, and unique, beautifully laid brick flooring. Warm string lights are delicately draped overhead, casting a romantic, celebratory glow across your reception. Large windows invite natural light into the hall, making it a highly versatile and inviting atmosphere for an unforgettable evening of dinner and joyous celebration.

Willow Tree Cottage

Your own little space to slow down, get ready & soak it all in.

Willow Tree Cottage is our 1,200-square-foot getting-ready space designed with the wedding day in mind. The cottage offers separate spaces for the couple and their attendants, allowing everyone to get ready comfortably while still feeling connected. With plenty of room for hair and makeup, food and drinks, and those quiet moments before the celebration begins, it’s a place to relax, laugh, take a breath and enjoy the people around you before walking down the aisle.

    We had the most perfect wedding on a misty fall day at Spring Tavern Farm. The venue is gorgeous- the mountain view, the willow tree and the pond, the flowers, the beautiful barn- and all our guests commented on how breathtaking it is. Todd and Tracy were very communicative, going above and beyond to provide the ideal setting for our day even when we had to make the call to switch to our ceremony rain plan. The love and care that have gone into creating this space is so clear in every detail, and we feel so fortunate to have hosted our event during their debut season. So many parts of our experience with Spring Tavern Farm were essential to reducing wedding stress, including being able to use the farm for an entire weekend (from rehearsal dinner to day-after cleanup), tables/chairs/linens included in the package, and the ceremony and reception locations being so close together. Additionally, as a same-sex couple getting married in Southwest Virginia, we felt safe and welcomed here and were able to make our celebration feel unique and true to ourselves. Here's to many happy weddings and seasons to come!

    We had my daughter's wedding here and it was amazing. The venue is beautiful! Todd and Tracy were so helpful in making sure everything was just right for the day. They really care and it shows. The indoor spaces are so unique. It was a perfect day and a fabulous event!

    I recently visited Spring Tavern Farm Weddings & Events in Catawba, and what a beautiful, peaceful place! Nestled in the scenic countryside, this family-owned venue has such a warm and welcoming feel. I loved the rustic timber-frame barn, the peaceful pond, the beautiful willow tree, and the outdoor ceremony area with its charming white pergola. The views and natural surroundings make the whole property feel cozy and special. It would be a lovely setting for a wedding, reunion, or special celebration. If you’re looking for a beautiful country venue with lots of charm, Spring Tavern Farm is definitely worth a visit!

We offer a stunning outdoor ceremony site in front of our serene, willow-shaded pond, as well as an indoor option within our charming timber frame barn. The barn also serves as the main space for receptions. For added convenience, we provide a private bridal suite and a cozy groom’s lounge to help you prepare and relax on your special day.
Yes. A professional wedding coordinator is required for all weddings at Spring Tavern Farm. This allows you and your family to fully enjoy your day while your coordinator handles the timeline, vendors, transitions and behind-the-scenes details. You are welcome to choose your own coordinator, or we’re happy to recommend some of our trusted vendor partners.
Event insurance is required to protect both you and Spring Tavern Farm. We require a minimum of $1 million in general liability coverage, as well as host liquor liability if alcohol will be served. This policy can be easily obtained online through a variety of vendors, and Spring Tavern Farm must be listed as an additional insured on the certificate of insurance.
