About this venue

The Star View Room is a large, bright room on the second floor of an old brick can warehouse in Roanoke. It is about 3,200 sq ft, with windows on three walls, skylights overhead and the Mill Mountain Star in view after dark. Timber and brick do most of the decorating. It suits small weddings of up to 45 guests, and the events around a wedding: rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, showers and next-day brunches. Seat everyone at one long table, set rounds, or leave the floor open. The room comes empty and you set it up your way. Bring your own caterer, bar and decor. Tables and 53 chairs are on site. There is no kitchen, so caterers arrive with food ready to serve. A freight elevator and free carts make load-in easy. Next door is The Can Dock, an open-air brick loading dock with a covered walkway. It holds up to 100 standing or 50 seated, for a daytime ceremony or cocktail hour before dinner upstairs. Free parking on site. Booked by the hour, cleaning included.

The Can Dock

An open-air brick loading dock with a covered walkway, for a daytime ceremony or cocktail hour.

A raised concrete dock of about 1,000 sq ft between old brick warehouses, open to the sky, with a covered walkway on green posts running about 125 ft along the building. Up to 100 standing or 50 seated. Bring your own tables, chairs, caterer and drinks. There is no power or lighting on the dock yet, so plan a daytime event or one that ends by dusk. No cooking, generators or propane. Free parking; restrooms a short walk away.

    We've worked with Can Company Warehouse several times and have always appreciated the venue's size and layout for accommodating different event configurations. The space itself is genuinely impressive—industrial charm with plenty of flexibility, which our clients loved. One thing to note is that the team is responsive to last-minute adjustments, so if you need to shift things around closer to your date, they're willing to work with you. For the price point, you're getting a solid venue that doesn't require extensive additional decor to look polished. I'd definitely recommend Can Company Warehouse to other vendors looking for a reliable option with good bones.

Our rates are the same all year. We have no peak-season pricing. Friday to Sunday evenings after 5pm are billed at our weekend-evening rate.
Yes, free parking in our own lot beside the building. Guests meet at the glass door off the lot.

Yes. Alcohol must be served by a licensed bartender or caterer who holds a banquet license and carries liquor liability insurance of $1M/$2M naming KNI Investments LLC. We do not have a bar or bar staff.
The room is on the second floor and is reached by an elevator from the ground floor. Restrooms are just outside the room. If any of your guests have specific needs, ask us and we will walk you through the route from the parking lot before you book.
The room for your booked hours, tables and 53 chairs, a powered conference table, use of the freight elevator, a hand truck and flat carts for load-in, cleaning afterward, and free parking. You bring your own caterer, bar, decor and staff.
You book by the hour. Events have a 4-hour minimum at $175/hr. Friday to Sunday evenings after 5pm are $210/hr with a 6-hour minimum, except rehearsal dinners, which can book a 4-hour evening package. Bookings of 8 hours or more get 10% off. Include your setup and cleanup time.
A 50% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due 7 days before. Cancel more than 7 days out for a full refund, or between 7 days and 24 hours out for 50% back. Inside 24 hours there is no refund.
Yes. Every booking needs a certificate of insurance: general liability of $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate, naming KNI Investments LLC as additional insured. One-day event policies are easy to buy online. With alcohol, the licensed server also carries liquor liability.
