Red Mesa Events is a downtown St. Petersburg’s landmark venue known for its stunning events. Featuring a complete cutting edge banquet kitchen, Red Mesa Events is situated above and operated by the top restaurant group in St. Pete, FL with the same skill & passion they brought to their first restaurant over four decades ago. Red Mesa Events officially opened its doors in November 2017 after a full renovation of all 3 event spaces, adding modern technology while preserving the unique original features of the historic building.

St. Pete’s first fire station is now the cornerstone of Red Mesa Events.

With original exposed brick, two brilliant chandeliers and herringbone wood floor, La Florida Ballroom is an exquisite, 1200-square-foot space that seats 100 in a formal dining setting or 150 for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The marbled bar and state-of-the-art AudioVisual and lighting system make this the perfect venue for meetings, receptions, banquets, soirees and more!

    So Upset

    We booked Red Mesa Events because the space itself was gorgeous and we loved the aesthetic for our wedding day. Unfortunately, the venue closed down before our wedding even took place, and despite multiple attempts to reach out, we never heard back from them about what this meant for our event or our deposit. The lack of communication throughout this process was frustrating and left us scrambling to find a new venue just weeks before our big day. If you're considering this space, I'd recommend looking elsewhere—there are plenty of other beautiful venues out there with owners who actually stay in business and respond to their clients. We lost both time and money on this booking, and it's not an experience we'd wish on anyone planning their wedding.

    We Love Red Mesa Cantina

    The Venue is not just beautiful and dreamy, Leigh and her staff are amazing to work with. The food is freshly cooked and absolutely delicious all around. I highly recommend this venue you will have an unforgettable event! Truly Yours Event Planning

We provide all beverages in house, unless it's a specialty liquor in which case we charge a corkage fee.
You may contract valet parking if you wish, however it's not necessary. There's metered-street parking available around the building, and two parking garages on the same block.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. The elevator does not access the Rooftop, however we have a chair lift that can carry guests individually to the Rooftop area.
Set up, clean up, tables, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, all staffing, in-house sound system, uplighting, screen & projector (in ballroom only), linens, and two ceremony backdrops
Your reservation includes four hours from start to finish, not including the time it takes our staff to set up and clean up. An additional 30 minutes is allotted for onsite ceremonies. Additional hours may be added for a fee.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 90 days of your booked date, you are responsible for the full amount of all estimated charges. Should an act of god such as a hurricane prevent us from performing our duties, we will reschedule your event to a mutually-agreed upon date in the future.
No, our venue is fully insured. Your vendors will need to be licensed and insured (where applicable). You're welcome and encouraged to get your own insurance through companies such as WedSafe or Wedding Protector Plan, however it is not required.
Yes, we require all weddings to contract a wedding planner from our preferred list. All off-list planners must receive written approval in advanced. You are not required to contract any particular level of planning; the level of planning is up to your discretion.
We don't have any bridal or wedding suites on site to get ready, however there are plenty of hotels within walking distance that have beautiful suites!
Your rental does include a rehearsal walkthrough up to one hour. Walkthroughs are scheduled around previously booked events and subject to change based on space availability.
We don't offer decor with regards to centerpieces, or floral design. You're welcome to bring in your own centerpieces, or use one of many talented florists in the Tampa Bay area.
We don't allow smoking anywhere in the venue or outside in any of our outdoor areas. Guests who wish to smoke must go off-property.
Absolutely! We love mixing it up. Signature drinks are priced based on the ingredients.
Yes, you're welcome to bring items like bar signs, table numbers, card box, cake cutting set, decor items, seating charts, etc. We will not keep valuables such as rings, jewelry, or your marriage license. You can bring these items the day before your wedding at a pre-determined time, and must pick them up the day after your wedding by close of business. All items must be taken with you the night of the event if there is an event the next day, or the morning after the event if there are no previously scheduled events. Any items left in the venue after these times will be discarded and may be subject to a cleaning fee.
Yes! We are pet-friendly and allow you to include your pet in your ceremony and pictures following your ceremony only. Professional Pet Handlers, FairyTail Pet Care must be contracted to include your pet in your ceremony. Friends or family members may not act as your pet handlers.
Yes, you can. You're welcome to bring your own cake or dessert in from a licensed and insured baker. It cannot be home-baked. We charge a cake cutting fee of $2.95 per person for wedding cakes, and offer limited in-house desserts as well.
Your final payment and guest count are all due two weeks prior to your wedding. Any and all guest meal selections, and seating assignments are also due at this time. No changes are allowed following the two-week deadline.
