Open Gates Bed & Breakfast

Amazing location for any kind of event. My sons wedding was just beautiful. There owners are also wonderful people to work with. Love this place!!

Finally a true Bed and BREAKFAST !!! I was lucky enough to make a last minute reservation within an hour of arriving. To be honest , my husband and I were little worried as we were driving thru the little town with all the run down / abandoned homes. Thank goodness we did not let that sway our decision because we would have missed the best hidden GEM ! This bed and breakfast is decorated so beautifully and to hear the owners stories about some of the pieces in their B&B, has quite the adventure for them . We stayed in the Magnolia room and the bed is soft and comfy. My husband said it was his best sleep ever ! There is a ceiling fan which is always a plus. The one unique thing about this bedroom is the bathroom is located across the hallway. It is a big bathroom and only dedicated to the Magnolia room. Plenty of beautiful windows surrounding the room. The owners Zach and Carrie are just delightful very down to earth and take pride in their bed and breakfast. Zach is also the chef ! I love bed and breakfasts , but I have had more just serve a mediocre breakfast. Not here , finally ... a TRUE Chef's breakfast !!!! 😋 it was so good , that we wished we weren't only staying for one day , just so we could have more of Zach's creations !! i am so glad we did not let the abandoned homes in the area scare us away or we would have missed out. I looked up why there are so many abandoned homes and it actually has history to it! The location of this bed and breakfast is perfect.The town has a very safe, quiet , and relaxed feel ! We walked to dinner which was only a few blocks away into the little town. We can't wait to come back and stay longer !!!

An absolutely dreamy b&b. The host is so kind, communicative, and laid back. He gave us so much helpful info on the town. The breakfast was perfect. We were in town for a work trip and enjoyed a peaceful evening to read and enjoy the historic room. Hopefully we will get to come back one day!

We spent 2 nights and hosted a bridal shower at Open Gates and had the most wonderful time! We hosted a bridal shower with 30 people in attendance. There was plenty of room inside for all the festivities. Open Gates provided a splendid menu of small bites that Waterfront Wines and Gourmet paired with some wines. The food was not your typical shower food— it was interesting and delicious and well thought out and I’m a tough food critic! As far as our stay, the house is tastefully furnished and decorated. We felt so special while still feeling like we were at home. The breakfast was great. The beds were so soft. The rooms were very clean. Zack and Carrie are such gracious host! It’s in a perfect location and several shops and restaurants are within walking distance. We highly recommend Open Gates for your stay in Darien and your microevents!
