Los Alamos Heritage House

I had the chance to tour the Heritage House for a shoot, and I was blown away. Jen has restored the house with an eco ethos, an eye for heirloom finds, and a true skill for listening to the history and future of the house, simultaneously. Every room has personality, and so many design features have a story. Heritage House is a work of art by someone who cares deeply about what she brings into a space, the environment, and the community she welcomes into it. The best place in Los Alamos for events, filming/photography, and memorable stays.

The Heritage House was our last stop on our 2 week vacation through different areas of California with our friends and our dogs! We live in SoCal, so we always appreciate seeing the history of California in other parts of the state. The Heritage House of Los Alamos is an amazing testimate to that vibrant history! Every detail was thoughtful down to the books about Marie Antoinette in the "Eat Cake" Antoinette bathroom, the feathered pendant in the Gatsby room, and the nod to the early farmers of the Central Valley. The backyard was a welcome treat for the dogs as well as the humans with many gathering places. Our only regret was that we only stayed for 2 nights! One side note is that many of the shops/restaurants are closed M-W, so plan accordingly. We did enjoy Bob's Well Bread, but had to venture to nearby Los Olivos (another great historic town) for lunch. We cannot wait to return!

Our family of 6 adults and 3 kids just returned from a dreamy 2-nights stay at the Heritage House. The house is so spacious both inside and outside. Everyone especially loved the swinging bed out in the back. The place was so clean through and through (floor, furniture, counter tops, linens & towels, kitchen items, etc) and the house was stocked with supplies that we needed and more for comfortable stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the well-working central AC/heater despite the house being 100+ years old. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure for showers too. Most importantly, the location of the house is FANTASTIC, within walking distance to all the main attractions around the town. Jen was A+++ host, from booking our reservation until departure! We sincerely appreciated her prompt, clear, and courteous communication. She even sent a local contractor to the house right away early Saturday morning when we had a minor issue with one of the doors. Her recommendations on local eateries and activities were spot-on and we can't wait to return to Los Alamos in near future to try more restaurants, wineries, and bars. I found the Heritage House on Airbnb but will plan to book directly with Jen for future stays. This would also be a great place for a low-key, cute girls' trip or bachelorette. The house may not be ideal for those with mobile infants and younger toddlers 2-3 year old as it's not baby-proofed and has some breakable decorations around, but it worked well for our family of kids 4 years and above who were able to listen to instructions and enjoyed exploring the house!

Beautiful resto work, very cozy, great host. No downside all upside as long as you have great taste and appreciate a historic experience.

This house is a total gem and love the backyard area. This two story house has so much history and great bones! I absolutely loved the swinging couch (more than I thought). There were great local spots literally minutes away. If I ever have an event in this area again I’m definitely rebooking. I’m very glad to have stayed here (I kept showing my friends and family throughout our short trip and they wanted to stay too. lol.). From farm to table flatbread was amazing along with bobs bread (worth the short wait). Thank you so much Jen for everything from welcoming me in person to the tiny details and even the welcome basket. Take care!
