Early Dawn Ranch is a nine-bedroom sanctuary designed for milestone gatherings. Nestled along the Leroux Creek, just past the orchards of Hotchkiss, our luxury lodge provides the perfect setting for family reunions, corporate retreats, and intimate weddings, offering a serene escape amidst the majestic West Elk Mountains of Colorado.

The Retreat

An intimate space for your gathering

A newly built cedar cabin just a few yards from the main lodge. This space offers a more rustic environment with a large built in bar space, garage doors to open up to the outside and surrounding valley / range views. Single restroom available in building. Offers out door patio seating and a fire pit. Additional unfinished space at the back for catering needs. Option to add a tent behind the building for an outdoor covered space. (Tenting is additional cost)

The River

Gather at our forested riverside space for a serene experience

This forested outdoor space is perfect for smaller groups. The wood bridge is a beautiful back drop for a micro wedding ceremony, small cocktail hour with light appetizers, or a farm to table gathering for 20. We limit group size in this space as we will need to shuttle your guests in our side-by-sides.

Our wedding season is May, June, July, and August.
We move to micro-weddings, family gatherings, and corporate retreats on limited availability between November and February.
Yes, we charge a corkage fee of $10 per bottle for wine and liquor.
Yes, guests staying onsite will have parking available to them. Off-site guests will have to use a shuttle. Our planning team can assist with transportation needs.
Yes, we offer a ramp to enter the Lodge, with the first floor being wheelchair accessible. This makes 2 bedrooms, the great room, dinning and kitchen all accessable. The road down tot he Retreat space is a rougher gravel but the building is wheel chair accessible.
Our starting rental fee offers a 3-day buy out of our property! Friday at noon to Sunday at noon. Rental of the property includes overnight accommidations for up to 20 for Friday night and Saturday night. The Lodge has 9 luxury bedrooms (2 of which are suites with large soaking tubs). Most rooms offer private in-room bathrooms, walk-in closets and patios. All spaces on the property are available to you during your stay. Our fee includes a planner to help coordinate the rest!
Your reservation includes access to the property from Friday at noon to Sunday at noon.
Your booking fee (deposit) is non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 40 days of your event date, the full venue fee is due.
The nearest airport is Montrose Regional Airport. You and your guests can catch a connecting flight from DIA, and arrive in about an hour. We can coordinate transportation (shuttles) or you can rent a car at the airport. The drive from Montrose Regional airport is about an hour to Early Dawn Ranch.
Yes, while our venue is fully insured, we ask all guests hosting an event weekend to have event insurance.
We are tucked in the rolling mountain range of the West Elk Mountains and Grand Mesa about 20 minutes outside of Hotchkiss, CO. 1 hour from Montrose, CO, 1.5 hrs from Grand Junction, CO or about 5 hours from Denver, CO. We are a private ranch with 1,800 acres of natural terrain, hay fields, and cattle pastures.
